A week after the National Title, Chris Grassie signed a new 5 year contract for 1,878,750 or 375,750 a year. Making him the highest paid DI Soccer coach in the nation. He made 122,000 before May. He is well worth it as he is the best soccer coach in the NCAA. Only 36 schools pay their men's soccer HC more than 100,000. The avg HC makes less than 50,000 at 42,500.

Todd Yeagley (Indiana) 325,000
Mike Noonan (Clemson) 318,000
Jeremy Gunn (Stanford) 308,000
Carlos Somoano (North Carolina) 295,000

Those are your top 5 paid coaches. And here are their rankings:

#1 Marshall
#2 Indiana
#4 North Carolina
#6 Clemson
#8 Stanford

By looking at that, it does look like you get what you pay for.

Blows my mind that the average soccer HC salary is only $42,500 04-jawdrop

I guess they were for a couple days. A young, decent VT squad took down Marshall yesterday 3-2.

I think JMU laid a major egg. Marshall has a good squad, but hopefully this was an aberration for the Dukes.

RE: 2021 Fall Olympic Sports
Update for the Week of 8/30:

WSOC: Dropped a close one on the road to Louisville 3-4 moving to 1-2 on the season. They have a big weekend ahead of them as they play VT tomorrow night and #3 UVA on Sunday at Sentara Park.

RV MSOC: Bounced back to beat UMKC 2-0 after the trouncing by #1 Marshall last week to go 1-1 on the season. They should have an easy confidence building game against NJIT.

#24 Field Hockey: Won both of their opening games 3-0 to move to 2-0 on the season. They get to take on #18 ODU this Friday evening on East Campus and will be at Richmond on Sunday. We have a bunch of potential Top #25 matchups down the pipeline.

WGOLF: Starts their season up at Penn St. this weekend

Volleyball: Went 2-1 last weekend beating High Point and ISUr, however dropping all 3 sets to VCU. They'll be on the road this weekend to play Alabama St., Campbell, and NCCU, hopefully winning all three matchups.

RE: 2021 Fall Olympic Sports
Volleyball smooth sailing with three 3-set wins this weekend. Veldman back in the lineup and lead in kills 2 of the 3 matches. We get another shot at VCU Thursday and should fare better with our full lineup. Then Friday we’ve got #6 Ohio State, who will probably be top 5 after they beat #4 Washington this weekend, will be tough to even keep sets close with them but I like the scheduling.

I'm just hoping some of those guys can be home growns for DC United (they need all the help they can get)

Huh? Marshall has 20+ foreign players

Also not how the Homegrown spots work.

Now that DC has rid itself of Benny Ball, Losada needs time to bring in a few more of his type of player.

RE: 2021 Fall Olympic Sports
Volleyball with a 4-set revenge win over VCU on Friday, with our full lineup this time. Ugly hitting percentage but we got it done. Yesterday we lost in 3 sets to #4 OSU but didn’t get blown out and we out-blocked them. With a healthy season we should be the favorites for CAA and depending on draw, a tough mid-major for someone in the tourney.

Big win! According to the new radio guy Dave Riggert, this is the first time JMU has beaten UVA since 1980. Guys move to 6-2 on the season.
