The Athletic: The SEC to finalize Forfeit Policy for Covid-19
From The Athletic:

The SEC might not finalize its game management COVID-19 protocols until the week of the first game, commissioner Greg Sankey told The Athletic on Friday, but teams should be ready for the possibility they will have to forfeit if they don't have enough players available due to the virus.

"Our medical task force meets twice a week and everything is subject to change right now," he said. "Our athletics directors will continue to discuss the COVID roster policies, particularly my reference that, 'Be ready, be healthy to play, if you're unable to field a team. that would be deemed a forfeit.' We'll have to finalize that one before the start of the season."

The SEC and Pac-12 are pushing their teams to be 100% vaccinated and this is part of that push.

Interesting that these are the two conferences this time leading the effort.

There will be cases even if fully vaccinated. Do they plan to turn a blind eye to testing claiming everyone is immune?

Which is fine as they are fit 18-22 year olds and low risk, but why push vaccines so hard.

Larry Scott is no longer leading the Pac-12, which means the Pac-12 can lead again and not be a follower. As one source said about George Kliavkoff, "He's proven he knows how to get s--t done. He's not Larry Scott. He's gonna listen, collaborate and build trust with ADs." You can see it with the Alliance that he is working to build. The leadership in the Pac-12 got a decade of Larry Scott and they knew exactly what they didn't want in the next commissioner and what they did want.
