No one is getting booted from these leagues so spots are limited!

Get your A Game on for the next 3 years if you want a seat one the last chopper out of Saigon in 2025!

So the real question is will it be 64 or more like 32?

Because if it’s 32, the others are going to get quite a shock. The tears will be flowing and they’ll get a taste of what it feels like to be a G5 school, sitting on the outside looking in.

And if that happens I will be laughing at them.

I used to think that---now Im starting to wonder if it will even be some organized breakaway by several conferences. Im starting to think it will be one league---think the SEC---maybe 2 as the Big10 seems to be the only league even close---who add the last few big brands existing outside of those leagues and break away as a single merged league. The recent supreme court decision has me leaning toward this "breakaway" consisting of a single massive nationwide conference that skims the top off every P5 to form an NFL Lite. They break away from the NCAA and for 4 divisions of 8 to 10 teams---and there you have it--an NFL Lite Super Heavywieght College division with everyone else left behind---quietly demoted down to the new version of FCS.

So if there was this NFL Lite Super Heavywieght College division, And couple that with the other rumor about separation from the NCAA to permit and allow them to implement there own set of rules, I wonder where exactly they would go with the rules? Would they change scholarship limits for those schools? What are some of the things they would do?

Also, I know a lot of football fans who watch only college football or only watch the NFL. If it turned it into something more like the NFL, I am not so sure most college football fans would be into it. Maybe they would initially, or if they had a dog in the fight, but after the newness wore off, I believe a number college fans would fall back to watching the more traditional college football under the NCAA. That’s just my opinion.

i understand where your coming from but if these 98 teams are on tv every weekend and having it’s own playoffs why wouldn’t you watch ?
i think it would take 3 years to surpass the 32 team league in tv ratings and IF that happens it sure as heck would not be fcs, heck it’s not fcs now

Because it essentially becomes the college version of Canadian football.

Hell while they're at it just stop making football players also be students. Let a school sign players to represent the school on the field, no need to actually have to work toward a degree. Of course any players that put in a few years for the school should definitely get a discount if they want to take classes after their career is over.

They will bring the AAC and the MWC along (80 teams roughly) so they don’t have to beat up on each other every game.

If they limit it to 60 or so schools half of them will never have a winning record. It won’t happen.

Never stopped the NFL from figuring it out.
a high school draft?

Herbie has a gut feeling. Don’t lie to us Herbie. You work at ESPN, we know you’ve seen the blueprints.

RE: Final Tryouts for the Super 64
Correct me if I’m wrong here but ESPN just cut a 65 team club down to a 57 team club. If we get a pair of mega leagues, I think we’re talking more like a 40-48 team system.

Suppose a division with 4 16-team conferences is created with its own national championship play-off. Call it P-Division.

Suppose another division with 4 16-team conferences is created with its own national championship play-off. Call it G-Division.

Both divisions would have schools with large and small enrollments.
They would both occupy large and small population areas. They would both have some strong football and basketball programs.

Would both divisions be profitable?

If not, suppose P-Division had only 32 schools and G-Division had 96 schools.

Define "profitable". We already have something like that. Its called FBS and FCS. FCS is not "profitable".---but then---neither is the bottom half of FBS. Maybe what your really asking is if that lower level "G" division is "sustainable". Probably---but nobody will care about it just as nobody cares about FCS.

As Ive said many times---the general public cares a great deal about who the best team in college football is. They have very little interest in the identity of the 66th best team in college football---and thats largely how the "G" division championship will be viewed by the general public.
