Outside of Darrel Martin out of Hamilton in the late 80s the city has not produced one true D1 starting QB who then performed even one solid season at a school. It has baffled almost every HC who has been here.
He has a lot of size and skill, go tigers!

This is EXACTLY the type of young man I want competing at QB.
Yes. He said on the radio that he will be working out and meeting with the team this Fall, and hopes to give Gunnell and Henigan a run for the starting position in the Spring. (He did not mention the other 2 qb's by name.)

Has there ever been a greater competition at the QB postion at Memphis?

Not since West was coach.
The year Mo Avery converted from WR back to QB, any of the 3 QBs who had been injured that season would have been capable starters.

In a program like ours, we need Freshman signees to expect to come in; redshirt yr 1, then compete for playing time in yr 2, with starting potential for yr 3 / 4 .... After yr 2 if they aren't showing that ability, that's where the TRANSFER portal QB's slip into the pipeline .... I'm betting that in a couple of weeks, Parrish or Brown are gone or moved to another position ...

If Carter is enrolled already (I'm unclear his status, but he sounded like he was enrolling early), then I think Brown is BOH. With depth chart looking like Gunnell, Henigan, Carter this Fall.
If Carter is still ineligible this Fall, I sure hope Brown stays.
I think Parrish is BOH either way. But he has already transferred once, which complicates things. Not sure how the new NCAA rules and temp COVID rules might impact this.

Unsure if he would make the move, but Parrish converting to WR could be nice. He has speed, athleticism. It would be an ego bruise, but could be a solid player.

I believe it was the homeschool team created last year when the SCS jackboots shutdown athletics.
It sounds like Carter is working out with the team and attending team meetings. But he's not on the current roster, so not enrolled yet.
I guess he's doing the homeschool thing again this fall, and planning to enroll at Christmas?
