RE: Would an undefeated UAB and Liberty get the attention of ESPN College Gameday?
The potential of the UAB/LU matchup is large. Unfortunately Freeze returning to Old Miss is the bigger story line. With or without GameDay, the week leading up to that game will garner national attention with Freeze's escort phone calls and his disgraced Miss departure. Then with a second chance, LU hires Freeze and he catapults LU into post season bowl victories and likely top 25 ranking this week. Unfortunately, UAB/LU garners less national interest than Miss/LU with the hoopla surrounding it.

Surprisingly they are going to Athens instead of Tuscaloosa

Maybe if UTSA and UAB keep winning they will go to San Antonio.

...would be cool, but sadly, I don't think they will ever set up shop in a 'non-ESPN' conference setting... ...all the more reason we gotta get into the AAC, not that it is imperative that GameDay ever shows up here (unless we can run the table one season, and even then, it's doubtful... I think they went to Coastal last year (50%-50% on my memory bank being overdrawn on that), but if they did, CC is in an ESPN conference). It would be pretty awesome to see Corso put on the Blaze head once, tho... 02-13-banana02-13-banana02-13-banana

I think the only way they would even consider UTSA-UAB for Gameday is if both are in top 25 and both already headed to AAC to become ESPN properties.

Why is that surprising? Athens actually has a Top 10 matchup on ESPN.

Tuscaloosa, while still hosting a #12 team, is the CBS game.

Saban vs. former assistant Kiffin
Two QBs are Heisman hopefuls

Arkansas is surprisingly good this year so I can see why ESPN would choose Athens. Arkansas Head Coach was an assistant at Georgia.

Yeah but Ole Miss/Bama has upset written all over it and will probably be the better game.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gameday has a feature on us this Saturday. Too good of a story of coming back from the dead.

...will be interesting if they do, and how it is 'framed'... ...and if they will drop any hints as to an impending move...

Both games sucked...so once again, it was just smart marketing by ESPN to hype up the game they actually had on their own network.
