When do we play Austin peay again
BTW, this Dude can ball, we have to worry about Colorado flipping him.
Good call by the staff, a Dude with his talent should be in tougher competition

This staff has been pretty sharp in identifying talent that can excel at this level. Don’t be a sarcastic dope.

Welcome to Memphis, Trevor!!

Welcome to Memphis, Trevor!!

People forget most of these kids lost an entire season and many have not been properly evaluated. There was a longer than normal dead period and many just didn’t get the looks as juniors that they normally would. Junior year was what elevated me and started getting letters and visits set up. So that year is crucial in evaluation. I think we are gonna luck out and get some kids that normally would’ve gotten much higher offers in a normal recruiting cycle.

And his HS has taken over as the perennial power in the B’ham area.

I just got started doing some research on Hardy and found out that THOMPSON HIGH won the ALABAMA Class 7A state title. So, I see this highlight video on the state champtionship game on YouTube and just have to share it with you. I looked up the roster and Hardy is number 19. Remember that number and watch the on sides kick and the last 4 points of the game.

RE: Three-star safety Trevor Hardy commits to Memphis
People who always jab when we pickup a new football commit because of the other schools they were going to/were after them have no idea about all of the different facets that make players play great at the next level.

If really good high school players were NOT ever mis-evaluated, then we never would be any good because all of the big shot/big money schools would never whiff and we wouldn't end up getting the diamond in the rough three stars that we have that ended up being better than their rankings.

The football staffs that we have had have recruited well. They haven't seemed to whiff as often as they "hit". Until they whiff a lot, I'm not going to judge their decision making on player recruiting.

I mean, when a poster has that few posts - and is so negative - you don't have to wonder what's going on.

Welcome aboard, Hardy! Ranked HS safeties tend to end up as some of the more versatile players in college football. I recall Spurrier used to sign a half-dozen safeties every year.

Actually, that is not how you evaluate talent. Tony Pollard also only had offers from us and Austin Peay and he is now with the DALLAS COWBOYS getting significant game time minutes.

I hear Silverfield is having an impossible time on the road. Nobody is talking about 8-3, a bowl win and recruiting at a higher level than ever. All everyone wants to talk about is how we lost to Tulane.
