I’d say that’s a pretty accurate assessment, except maybe football. I think SFA is improving but is still a year away from competing for a championship. In WBB you are too modest- instead of competing for the championship, I envision SFA as the dominant team in the conference with everyone else competing for second place.

RE: Bold Predictions About How Well Your School will Fare In the New WAC
Oscar - I too agree with the SFA assessment minus football though of the WAC schools this year and knowing there’s a conference title for WAC games, SFA is as good a second place team behind Sam as anyone else. On the WBB front, it is SFA and CBU. Doubt we can just anoint SFA as the runaway favorite based on CBU’s body of work last year, high expectations for the coming year

The new turf is down at Homer Bryce Stadium with the new WAC logos. New track coming up next, it will be gray.

I didn't know the FBS "studies" were done already. Because I think the pictures of THAT stadium sums it up pretty well. Looking at those pictures, there's really nothing left to be said about FBS.

I'll kind of miss the way it was with the state of Texas on the field.

I think SFA has the horses this year to make a run in football. Back to back top 5 recruiting classes and most of those players are either starting or have had considerable time on the field and are battle tested against 5 FBS teams in the last two seasons.

SF Austin’s field is similar to NMSU’s. If they continue to build on it they will probably look the same.

I’d say that’s a pretty accurate assessment, except maybe football. I think SFA is improving but is still a year away from competing for a championship. In WBB you are too modest- instead of competing for the championship, I envision SFA as the dominant team in the conference with everyone else competing for second place.

I think SFA has the horses this year to make a run in football. Back to back top 5 recruiting classes and most of those players are either starting or have had considerable time on the field and are battle tested against 5 FBS teams in the last two seasons.

We return our starting QB now in his 3rd year in the system

Yes, I even forgot about the TE position.

We got
TE:#82 CHAD AUNE 6-4; 221 R/FR. (SLC 1ST TEAM)
G:14;REC:11;YDS:100;TD:2
TE:#86 CARSON SPENCE 6-6; 240 JR.
G:17;REC:9;YDS:59;TD:1
TE:#88 LAVAR LINDO 6-4; 224 FR.
G:6;REC:3;YDS:20;TD:0

And we got like you said the transfer out of Tulane
TE:#87 KESHON WILLIAMS 6-3; 245 R/FR.
G:3;REC:0;YDS:0;TD:0

He has played in 3 games with not stats recorded. The coaching staff is pretty high on him and he has been getting some first team reps.

We also recruited TE GRIFFIN EDWARDS 6-6; 225 FR. who had some FBS offers.

LU football probably won't be that good this year but at least there'll be a beer garden in the stadium.

Quote:Located in the south end zone, tickets for the beer garden are $35 per ticket which will include two drink vouchers. It will feature exclusive beers from Giglio Distributing. To provide a cooler setting during the game, the beer garden will include an artificial turf surface and umbrellas for shade, to go along with tables and chairs. The ticket will also include free lawn games exclusive to the beer garden. Tickets for the Beer Garden will be available when single-game tickets go on sale.

Cool stuff. Thanks for sharing. NMSU has the room to do something similar. I like it.
