MSNBC’s Ruhle: Where Is VP Kamala Harris on Border Crisis? — ‘She Was Supposed to Be in Charge’

Quote:MSNBC “Stephanie Ruhle Reports” host Stephanie Ruhle on Monday wondered where Vice President Kamala Harris has been regarding the ongoing crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Ruhle, who was reacting to the Biden administration stopping the group of 15,000 Haitian immigrants camping under a bridge at the border, noted that Harris was put in charge of the border. She said that “people aren’t listening” to her messaging to not come to the United States illegally and asked what she was doing now to solve the issue.

“How about the message from our vice president? Where is she?” Ruhle asked. “She was supposed to be in charge of all of these migration issues, going to those Northern Triangle countries — that’s obviously not Haiti — that was one of her first international trips with the message ‘Do not come here illegally.’ People aren’t listening. What is she saying now?”

NBC News correspondent Julia Ainsley replied, “Well, we haven’t heard a lot from the vice president. Of course, you point out she was focused on those Northern Triangle countries. A lot of her work was in Guatemala working with that government. A lot of the diplomacy, which was what the vice president was focused on, was with Mexico. And essentially what we’re seeing now is a breakdown of that work with Mexico.”

VIDEO: Caribbean Migrants March Through Mexican Checkpoint near Texas Border

Quote:Hundreds of Caribbean migrants trying to reach the U.S. border walked through an immigration checkpoint operated by Mexican authorities. The group is trying to reach the border city of Reynosa before crossing the Rio Grande to Texas.

The incident took place on Saturday morning north of the city of San Fernando, Tamaulipas, approximately 80 miles from Texas. Between 400-500 migrants, primarily from Haiti, were traveling from Veracruz to Reynosa when Mexican authorities turned back their buses. Rather than stop, the migrants walked toward the rural city where they rested and renewed their march the same day.

The group walked north and as they got close to a federal checkpoint, they stopped and held a prayer service with local church leaders. After, the migrants walked past the checkpoint expecting authorities to try to stop them, however, officials stood down.

Several miles down the road, another group of federal authorities managed to forcibly stop some of the migrants by loading them onto vans bound for Veracruz, where migrants interviewed by Breitbart Texas claimed they were released. It remains unclear how many Caribbean migrants were taken to Veracruz.

Republican Governors Demand Meeting With Biden To Discuss Border Crisis

Quote:Republican governors from 26 states demanded a meeting with President Joe Biden to discuss the ongoing border crisis, according to a Monday letter from Republican Gov. Doug Ducey of Arizona.

The governors said illegal border crossings pose a threat to Americans and migrants alike and have caused a humanitarian crisis at the southern border, according to the letter. The officials are “seeking an open and constructive dialogue regarding border enforcement on behalf of U.S. citizens in our states and all those hoping to become U.S. citizens,” according to the letter.

“We must end the current crisis and return to border operations that respect the laws of our land and the lives of all people, including those in our states looking to the federal government to enforce and protect our nation’s border,” the letter reads.

The officials asked Biden to meet with them in the next two weeks, as border apprehensions remain at record highs and drug, human and weapons trafficking continues, according to the letter.

“Border apprehensions are up almost 500% compared to last year, totaling more than 1.3 million — more people than the populations of nine U.S. states,” according to the letter. “Approximately 9,700 illegal apprehensions have prior criminal convictions.”

“Cartels and traffickers are making $14 million a day moving people illegally across the border,” according to the letter. “More fentanyl has been seized this fiscal year than the last three years combined — almost 10,500 pounds of fentanyl when only 2 milligrams prove fatal. This is enough to kill seven times the U.S. population.”

Border officials encountered nearly 209,000 migrants at the southern border in August, according to Customs and Border Protection data. Officials in southern Texas are dealing with over 10,000 Haitian migrants waiting to be processed at a temporary camp under the Del Rio International Bridge, the Daily Caller News Foundation reported.

RE: Biden*s Migrant Crisis Just Keeps Getting Worse and Worse
The Biden Administration Just Surrendered at the Border and Signaled the Worst Is Yet to Come

Quote:Over the weekend, news broke that the Biden administration was preparing to conduct a massive airlift of illegal immigrant Haitians that had rushed the border en masse at Del Rio, TX. Per the report, repatriation flights to Haiti for those camped out under a bridge (which marks the border entry point) would begin on Sunday. The numbers were estimated at around 15,000 illegal immigrants all in that single area.

When I wrote on that story, I asked if Joe Biden and his cohorts had finally reached their breaking point on the border crisis. After all, the videos were shocking, with people freely crossing the border to set up in what looked like a third-world refugee camp.

Well, we have our answer, and it amounts to a full-blown surrender at the border.

The obvious question is what “many” constitutes here as far as how many of the illegal immigrants who rushed the border will be allowed in. We now have the first numbers per Miranda Devine over at the New York, and they are infuriating.

All that angst about Biden supposedly treating Haitians differently compared to Central Americans was for naught. It appears the same old policies that have led us to this point of crisis are still in effect. Anyone that arrives as a “family” is being let go into the interior on the dime of taxpayers. And to be sure, you can bet a lot of people who aren’t actually family are claiming to be to game the system. There’s no way to truly vet or check the identities of these people.

What the Biden administration’s cowardice has done is not only surrender the border but signal that the worst is yet to come. Why would any mass of illegal immigrants forgo crossing now? They’ve been shown that there is no line that can be crossed that will cause mass deportations. Want to organize as thousands of people crossing in a mass while setting up shanty towns under a bridge? Even that isn’t a bridge too far for this administration. They are just going to process them and let almost all of them in. The bat signal was just sent up and more and more illegal immigration will follow.

I get having sympathy for people, and as someone whose been to Haiti many times, I understand the hardship there, but this is not sustainable. It was one thing when it was Mexicans and Central Americans crossing. At least they were making the journey as individual groups, crossing in remote areas while walking across a continuous landmass. This issue with Haiti is that it has shown that you can fly into Mexico from anywhere in the world and gain entry into the United States. The economic and national security implications are massive.

And Joe Biden couldn’t be bothered to even address it. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris, who was put in charge of the border crisis is nowhere to be found. Last I saw, she was ranting about taxpayer-funded childcare on Twitter. Our leaders live in a different universe. Nations can not exist like this.

MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle ‘Goes There’ in Rant on Kamala Harris as Border Crisis Worsens

Quote:As the case has been since President Joe Biden first put her in charge of dealing with the border crisis back in March, a lot of people over the last week or so have been asking “Where’s Vice President Kamala Harris” as the situation at the southern border further deteriorates and the administration shamelessly gaslights over the matter.

Among them has been MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle, which is very surprising considering like a lot of media figures at the network dubbed “MSDNC” she has a penchant for acting more like an apologist/spokesperson for Democrats rather than someone who will hold them accountable.

On her program Monday, Ruhle was joined by NBC News correspondents Julia Ainsley and Morgan Chesky to discuss the surge of illegal immigrants, thousands of who are camped out at the Del Rio, Texas/Mexico border as we saw from stunning video footage shared by Fox News reporter Bill Melugin over the last several days.

At one point during the segment, Ruhle – appearing exasperated – launched into a mini-“where’s Kamala?” rant, inquiring about what her message might be if she was actually speaking up publicly on the issue instead of remaining silent or preoccupied with other things few people know about since she’s oddly been keeping a low profile.

“How about the message from our Vice President, where is she?” Ruhle wondered. “She was supposed to be in charge of all of these migration issues, going to those Northern Triangle countries – that’s obviously not Haiti, that was one of her first international trips with the message ‘do not come here illegally.”

“People aren’t listening,” Ruhle continued. “What is she saying now?”

“Well, we haven’t heard a lot from the Vice President,” Ainsley noted before pointing out that Mexico at one point had been assisting in keeping some migrants from going into Texas but got flooded with migrants themselves so much to the point that they started waving buses full of them on through.

Watch:

As to the answer to Ruhle’s question, over the weekend Harris took the time to do the coin toss for a college football game in Washington, D.C. between Hampton and her alma mater Howard. She was to meet with Melinda Gates this morning to discuss the Wuhan virus pandemic. She is scheduled to talk with various world leaders this week, and this coming Friday, she’ll cap off the week by sitting down for an in-studio “interview” with her gal pals at “The View.”

But as to speaking publicly on the border crisis or visiting the area? Or holding a presser and actually taking questions? Don’t count on it. Perhaps it’s for the best, though, because now is the time for the utmost seriousness, not her infamous cackling.

Kamala Suddenly Reappears to Talk About the Border, but CBP Officers Let Her Have It

Quote:Kamala Harris has been completely missing in action when it comes to doing anything that might actually resolve the border crisis.

It’s gotten so bad, you even hear folks like MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle asking “Where’s Kamala” in all this?

But now, with the fake Border Patrol ‘whipping’ Haitians story, Harris is suddenly speaking up about the border.

Harris is all-in on the apparent Democratic talking points on the issue, calling it “horrible.”

From Fox News:

“What I saw depicted about those individuals on horseback treating human beings the way they were, was horrible,” Harris told reporters. “And I fully support what is happening right now, which is a thorough investigation into exactly what is going on there. But human beings should never be treated that way. And I’m deeply troubled about it. And I’ll also be talking to Secretary [Alejandro] Mayorkas about it today.”

Treated what way? Told they couldn’t break the law and enter illegally? Interdicted from coming in by using a horse to block their way? Exactly what was “horrible” here about enforcing the law that she supposedly has sworn to uphold?

That’s the other thing here. This isn’t separate from her. This is her responsibility — remember the “Biden-Harris” responsibility and her responsibility directly as border ‘czarina.’ She’s concerned about the Haitians? Where has she been while they’ve been congregating and living under the International Bridge in squalor now for days? She’s only shown up now, thinking she has a story on which she can foist the blame on someone else — the CBP. But it’s all on her and Biden anyway.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas (after he got the talking points) all signed aboard the horrible narrative, although Mayorkas first led with the truth — that no one whipped anyone.

Now, the CBP isn’t letting some of the Democrats and Biden officials throw them under the bus either. They’ve been busting their butts for months having to deal with all the ways that the Biden team has broken the system and thrown it into complete chaos. They’re doing the best they can — this isn’t on them. It’s on the Biden folks who seem to want to continue the chaos and open the doors to anyone.

Border Patrol agents who spoke to Fox News were angered by the pile-on from the administration, and accused it of trying to deflect from its inability to control the border.

“This whole situation is blowing up and even liberals are turning on this administration,” one agent told Fox News. “[Harris] is placing blame on agents to deflect because she and Biden are not going to change how they are handling this.”

Another source was more blunt, saying that the outrage “just proves what absolute idiots they are.”

“With basic knowledge and two brain cells, anyone knows those agents use split reins. They do use them as a whip, on their horses,” the agent said. “This helps get a quicker response from the horse to move out when needed, especially when the horse may be hesitant with groups of people or other animals.”

“Again it is clear that those ‘in charge,’ a term that is disgusting to use, have no clue about our operations and frankly operate by ignorance and unhinged emotions,” the agent said.

Exactly. This isn’t about reality or truth — it’s always about power and whatever narrative they’re trying to sell.

Haitian migrants revolt in custody and seize control of privately contracted bus

Quote:DEL RIO, Texas — Haitian migrants who were being transported on a federally contracted private bus away from the border revolted during the ride and overtook control of the commercial vehicle before escaping, according to two law enforcement officials.

A large white bus bound for San Antonio, Texas, was overtaken Monday afternoon during the two-and-a-half-hour trip from the international bridge in Del Rio. The migrants on board had been picked up from the makeshift migrant camp, where thousands are waiting to be taken into custody, two federal law enforcement agents told the Washington Examiner.

"They did break out of the bus, and they did escape," a senior federal law enforcement official confirmed to the Washington Examiner on Tuesday.

It is not clear which federal agency, Customs and Border Protection or Immigration and Customs Enforcement, was overseeing the transport. CBP initially apprehends, transports, and processes illegal immigrants, while ICE is responsible for longer-term detention and removal from the country. Neither agency responded to requests for comment.

However, ICE told a local media outlet that "several noncitizens attempted to flee the contracted bus."

The two people who confirmed the incident said law enforcement searched for the escapees and recaptured them.

Texas Sheriff Bill Waybourn and Art Del Cueto of the National Border Patrol Council slam the Biden administration for its failures at the border.

Harris Undercuts Biden, Says Flood of Migrants Proves We Must Do More for Haiti

Quote:Kamala Harris undercut Joe Biden late on Tuesday when asked about the thousands of Haitian migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border, calling for the Biden administration to do more for Haiti.

“The whole point is that we have to understand Haiti,” Harris replied when asked about the reported 15,000 mostly Haitian migrants currently being held under a bridge in Del Rio, Texas.

Harris also tried claiming that natural disasters in Haiti and their president being assassinated in July have played a role in thousands of Haitians trying to come to America.

“We really have to do a lot more to recognize that as a member of the Western Hemisphere, we gotta support some very basic needs that the people of Haiti have,” Harris said.

Harris also reacted to photos of U.S. border enforcement officials riding horses and confronting migrants crossing the border.

“What I saw depicted about those individuals on horseback, treating human beings was horrible,” she said.

“I fully support what is happening right now, which is a thorough investigation into exactly what is going on there,” she said. “But human beings should never be treated that way. I’m deeply troubled about it.”

Border Patrol is part of the federal government, so Harris is essentially calling for an investigation into her own administration.

A small group of Haitian migrants aboard a private bus contracted by the federal government who were being taken from an encampment near Del Rio, Texas, rebelled during the ride and took control of the vehicle before escaping, law enforcement officials said.

The large white bus was en route to San Antonio, Texas, officials said, when it was overtaken on Monday afternoon at some point during the normally two-and-a-half-hour journey from the border city, the Washington Examiner reported.

The migrants were initially picked up from encampment, where more than 15,000 mostly Haitian migrants had assembled over the past week. Thousands more still remain there and are waiting to be taken into custody under the watchful eye of Border Patrol and Texas law enforcement officers.

The incident was reported to the Examiner by two federal law enforcement officials, the outlet said.

“They did break out of the bus, and they did escape,” said a senior federal law enforcement official in confirming the incident to the outlet on Tuesday.

“It is not clear which federal agency, Customs and Border Protection or Immigration and Customs Enforcement, was overseeing the transport. CBP initially apprehends, transports, and processes illegal immigrants, while ICE is responsible for longer-term detention and removal from the country. Neither agency responded to requests for comment,” the Examiner reported.

That said, ICE told a local media outlet that “several noncitizens attempted to flee the contracted bus.”

“The safety of our personnel and the people in our custody is of utmost priority, the individuals, noncitizens are all back in our custody,” an ICE spokesperson told KVEO.

News of the bus incident and near-escape comes as the White House lashed out at the Border Patrol over tactics agents employed to prevent Haitian migrants from crossing illegally into the U.S. from Mexico.

“Pictures emerged on Monday of agents on horseback appearing to use the reins or lariats to strike at migrants and block their paths with the animals. Some Democrats and the media accused agents of ‘whipping’ migrants, although this has been denied by Border Patrol,” the Examiner reported separately.

The official said that regarding the incident in question, “the agent was acting in a way to keep migrants from continuing forward, said the official,” the Examiner reported. “The agent performed a ‘twirl of the reins’ to keep people back from the horse for their safety, and no one was whipped.”

The Border Crisis in Del Rio Was Caused by Biden, Now There's a Second Attack on DHS Agents

Quote:We reported earlier how Haitians who were on board a bus from Del Rio to Brownsville attacked the DHS staff who were guarding them and hijacked the bus. Some of the staff were injured and some of the illegal aliens temporarily escaped but were then rounded back up by local law enforcement.

But this is just one of the many problems that Biden’s border disaster has fostered.

First let’s start with the fact that again, the almost 15,000 Haitians living under a bridge at the border in squalor was a crisis of Biden’s own making.

From NY Post:

These are not people escaping an earthquake or political unrest or extreme poverty in Haiti, according to one of the most informed border observers, Todd Bensman, senior national security fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies and author of “America’s Covert Border War.”

All the Haitians he has interviewed have been living in Chile or Brazil for the past three to five years.

“I’ve never met one yet who is actually coming directly from Haiti,” he said. “But they will probably apply for asylum on the basis of [problems] in Haiti.”

Bensman has covered the border crisis for more than a year, traveling through Guatemala and Mexico to interview migrants.

The Haitians now in Del Rio were “living a pretty good life [in South America] but they are seeing an opportunity to improve their situation,” he says.

“They say they heard Joe Biden was opening the border up so they came.”

Most of them have work permits and residency in other countries which should make them not eligible for asylum. But that wouldn’t stop the Biden administration from letting them stay.

So these were not legitimate asylum seekers fleeing desperate situations, but economic migrants, egged on by Biden’s lax border policies.

Most of the folks aren’t being deported, according to reports, but rather, secretly bused to other places all over the country to then be released. The reports were that single men were being deported, while family unit were getting to stay.

Of the 3,300 processed over the weekend from under the bridge, just 327 were sent out on flights to Haiti. So only about ten percent. So where did the other folks go? To centers to be processed elsewhere, to be released into the U.S.

But there were problems caused today on one of the flights back to Haiti.

DHS confirmed to Fox’s Bill Melugin that Haitian migrants who were on a deportation flight back to Haiti caused “two separate disruptions” on the tarmac in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, injuring three ICE officers who sustained non-life threatening injuries. Haitian crowd control police were involved in responding.

They don’t want to go back to Haiti because they haven’t been there in years and would be at a complete loss.

Although most are being released into this country, this threat of being possibly deported back to Haiti is now actually having a positive effect and causing some to decide to go back to South America rather than risk being deported to Haiti.

So Biden accidentally tripped across one of the things that made the Trump policies so effective — deterrence. That said, there are still a tremendous number of people just being released into the United States.

Haitian Migrants Are Being Released Across The US: REPORT

Quote:Thousands of Haitian migrants were released into the U.S. after Biden administration officials said the migrant group who accumulated under a bridge in Del Rio, Texas, would be deported, the Associated Press reported on Wednesday.

Migrants were released on a “very, very large scale” including thousands of people, a U.S. official who was not authorized to speak on the matter told the AP. Most of the migrants who were released were issued notices to appear in court, meaning they have 60 days to check in with an immigration office anywhere in the U.S.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials reportedly bussed Haitians from Del Rio, Texas, to other border towns including El Paso, Laredo and into the Rio Grande Valley for additional processing, according to the AP.

“If you come to the United States illegally, you will be returned, your journey will not succeed, and you will be endangering your life and your family’s life,” DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said during a Monday press conference. However, several Haitian migrants who entered the U.S. illegally were released in Del Rio, Texas, the AP reported.

Another U.S. official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to discuss the matter said many Haitian migrants were processed under existing immigration laws instead of boarding expulsion flights, according to the AP.

Haitian migrant Mackenson Veillard and his pregnant wife were released from the camp into Del Rio, Texas, on Monday, where they planned to take a bus to meet a family member in San Antonio, the AP reported.

“I felt so stressed,” Veillard told the AP. “But now, I feel better. It’s like I’m starting a new life.”

The Biden administration hasn’t defined what parameters allow some migrants to enter the U.S. with notices to appear or refer them for deportation, the AP reported. Immigration lawyers and advocates weren’t allowed to visit the temporary camp under the Del Rio bridge and don’t have information about how migrants are being processed at the camp.

“Everybody in this country and around the world should be up in arms about the fact that we have an immigration system that operates as such a black box,” immigration attorney Wade McMullen told the AP. McMullen works with the Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights.

It’s unclear how many migrants have been deported and how many were released into the U.S., according to the AP. Immigration officials increased deportation flights to Haiti after they couldn’t find enough transportation companies to provide buses for the migrants.

Some Haitians who were sent back to the country said they lost their chance at the American dream, Reuters reported on Tuesday. Several of the deportees said they weren’t told where they were going when they boarded the flights and many of them haven’t lived in Haiti since they were teenagers.

Peter Doocy Corners Jen Psaki Over Mayorkas and Whether Joe Biden Has Ever Visited Southern Border

Quote:Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy and White House press secretary Jen Psaki went round and round today much more so than normal as Doocy tried to pin down answers from the Biden administration on a number of fronts related to the border crisis, such as the actual number of Haitian migrants who are here versus the number who have been sent back and wondering if President Biden has ever visited the southern border in his life and why he hasn’t to date as President in light of the explosion in migration we’ve seen in recent weeks.

As per the norm, Psaki gaslit and obfuscated throughout their at times testy exchanges, not ever giving a straight answer and at a couple of points giving him the equivalent of her infamous “circle back” response, which was particularly concerning on the issue of approximate numbers on the Haitian migrant situation, as you’ll soon see.

In the below two clips, Doocy pressed Psaki on just where reporters were supposed to get reliable information on how many Haitian migrants were here versus how many were sent back, considering Dept. of Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas has point-blank said he doesn’t have them. Psaki’s first answer was to refer Doocy … to DHS, incredibly enough, and then later said she’d get the numbers to him later today:

In another exchange, Doocy called out Psaki for the administration constantly falling back on Title 42, which he found interesting considering Biden promised during his campaign that he was going to gut Trump’s illegal immigration policies and throw open the border. Psaki’s only “defense” was to play word games by proclaiming Title 42 “is not an immigration policy”:

Doocy also wanted answers as to if Biden has ever visited the southern border, a question Psaki didn’t have the answer to and said she’d have to get back with him on. When Doocy inquired as to why Biden just doesn’t go to Del Rio to see for himself what’s going on, Psaki lamely answered that he relies on “all his experiences to inform how he governs.”

Watch:

But if he hasn’t visited the border directly himself, where’s that so-called “experience” on being able to better assess what steps you should take next and/or what you should fine-tune in your existing policy going forward? I mean especially considering Vice President Harris can hardly be bothered to do it herself?

Biden won’t visit the border and Harris had to be shamed by Trump in making the lone visit she has, which was in El Paso and not where the bigger problems are. I think it’s safe to say that this country is rowing upstream without a paddle, and with a “captain” who can’t make a move without his handlers staging it and a co-captain who half the time is MIA and who also simply isn’t very good at what she does.

The good news in all this, though? Not a mean tweet in sight. Aren’t you so relieved?

Mayorkas Suspends Horseback Border Patrol Agents from Duties Pending Probe

Quote:Department of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas has taken action against horseback Border Patrol agents accused by left-leaning media figures and Democrats of using “whips” and reins to assail Haitian migrants trying to enter the U.S. illegally.

“Border Patrol agents seen on horseback confronting Haitian refugees have been removed from regular duty during an investigation into their actions, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told lawmakers Wednesday,” Newsmax reported Wednesday.

“Videos showed law enforcement officers on horseback using aggressive tactics when confronting migrants in Del Rio, Texas. Some agents appeared to be swinging long reins,” the outlet continued, though Homeland Security officials have said the agents were adhering to their training and attempting to keep the migrants away from horses so they did not get injured.

Still, Mayorkas, in testimony before the House Wednesday and the Senate on Tuesday decried the agents’ behavior, saying he was “horrified” by what he saw in the media, telling Democrats he shared their outrage while pledging to “pull no punches” in ensuring agents would be disciplined if found to have violated their training and enforcement rules.

“The individuals, during the pendency of the investigation, are not conducting law enforcement duties to interact with migrants, but rather are conducting administrative duties,” said Mayorkas, who didn’t say how many agents were being investigated.

“I want to assure you that we are addressing this with tremendous speed and tremendous force. The facts will drive the action we take,” the DHS chief said.

He added, “It will be completed in days – not weeks.”

“I was horrified by what I saw. We will let the investigation run its course, but the pictures that I observed troubled me profoundly,” Mayorkas told CNN on Tuesday. “One cannot weaponize a horse to aggressively attack a child. That is unacceptable. That is not what our policies and our training require. … We will not tolerate mistreatment.”

“I don’t think anyone seeing that footage would think it was acceptable or appropriate,” White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters. “I don’t have the full context. I can’t imagine what context would make that appropriate.”

But Republicans pushed back, with Rep. John Katko, R-N.Y., the ranking member of the Homeland Security Committee, remarking that conditions along the U.S.-Mexico border are “absolutely out of control.”

“To me, it’s unbelievable what’s going on at the border,” Katko said, according to USA Today.

After President Joe Biden reversed most of his predecessor’s border and immigration enforcement policies, and while Mayorkas has been the DHS secretary, illegal migrant traffic into the U.S. along the border with Mexico has exploded.

But in House testimony, Mayorkas claimed, incredibly, that conditions along the border now are no different than they were under then-President Donald Trump.

“The border is secure. We’re executing our plan. I’ve been very clear and unequivocal in that regard,” Mayorkas told Rep. August Pfluger, R-Texas. “It is no less secure than it was previously.”

Republicans pushed back on Mayorkas’ characterization, however, and noted further that under his watch, fewer agents are deployed along the border in their typical national security role because they’ve been pulled off to care for and process hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants, as USA Today noted:

In a terse exchange, Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., asked Mayorkas how many agents stationed at the border had been pulled off that duty to process Afghans coming into the USA after the military withdrawal from their home country last month.

She said agents had been removed “to process and essentially babysit” Afghans.

Mayorkas said he disagreed with Cammack’s characterization of that work before she shot back that she “didn’t ask if you disagreed” and called it “a disgrace” that agents in one of the busiest sectors had been pulled off their duty.

The White House And Media’s Border Lies Are Collapsing Live On TV

The Biden administration and the corporate media’s lies about the border are collapsing and neither institution is prepared to do damage control.

While the White House frantically repeats lies about the administration’s handling of the border — including that officials are expelling migrants under Title 42, even though federal authorities are releasing thousands of illegal aliens into the U.S. — even Politico admits that “Everyone’s mad at Biden over migration.”

For months, Republicans have called out the Biden administration’s incompetence at the border. Just this week, 26 Republican governors begged Biden to “take action to protect America, restore security, and end the crisis now.” But even more telling than the GOP’s cries for action is the lack of approval from U.S. adults on President Joe Biden’s immigration policy. In a mid-September Reuters/Ipsos poll, only 38 percent of those surveyed said they approved of Biden’s handling of the border crisis his administration created and exacerbated.

While the White House does damage control and tries to win back public approval points by claiming that the administration is using Title 42 to deal with an influx of illegal aliens in Del Rio, Texas, it’s also fighting off the increasingly progressive sect of congressional Democrats who are demanding the administration “immediately put a stop” to deportations.

“Right now, I’m told there are four flights scheduled to deport these asylum-seekers back to a country that cannot receive them. Such a decision defies common sense. It also defies common decency and what America is all about,” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer told his congressional colleagues on Tuesday.

Schumer did not hold back any criticism from the administration for keeping what he called a “hateful and xenophobic” product of former President Donald Trump.

Even Biden’s corporate media allies who go to great lengths to cover up his other failures are noting the White House’s inability to fully address the humanitarian and political sides of this crisis. MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle condemned Vice President Kamala Harris, who Biden appointed to address the “root cause” of illegal migration to the U.S., this week for ignoring the mounting problems in Del Rio.

“How about the message from our vice president, where is she? She was supposed to be in charge of all of these migration issues, going to those Northern Triangle countries that’s obviously not Haiti, that was one of her first international trips with the message do not come here illegally,” Ruhle said on MSNBC. “People aren’t listening. What is she saying now?”

Similarly, CNN’s anchor Brianna Keilar pressed Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on why he is still refusing to call the months-long struggle at the Southern border a “crisis.”

“This is really — this is something we haven’t seen before. A — this camp inside of the United States, with thousands of people, what is the reticence to call something that is so clearly a crisis a crisis?” Keilar asked.

“I call it a heartbreaking situation, a tremendous challenge,” Mayorkas said.

Oh good they are doing something about this finally .... they are suspending people who are trying to stop crossings.

These agents on horseback gave them a half-second to breathe and divert attention away from the real stuff going on.

Fed-Up Harris Faulkner Interrupts Biden’s Speech To Ask About Plan for Migrants

Quote:Fox News host Harris Faulkner is fed up with Joe Biden and his incoherent rambling.

Harris interrupted Biden’s speech and ripped into him for ignoring the border “disaster” while he was making an announcement that the U.S. will vaccinate people worldwide.

Worldwide, except at the border.

Faulkner demanded to know if Biden had any plans to vaccinate the roughly 1.5 million illegal immigrants who have entered the country since he took office nine months ago.

“The United States is buying another half-billion doses of Pfizer to donate to low and middle-income countries around the world…It brings our total commitment of donated vaccines to over 1.1 billion vaccines,” Faulkner said.

Nice pivot by Biden, but Harris Faulkner wasn’t buying it and said, “are any of them going to be vaccinated?”
