Do you guys (CUSA teams) not produce your own in-house content? Unless it's a linear game, we (GS) produce everything in house and hand off to ESPN to carry it. The exception would be some of the remote commentators last year during COVID.

I thought most teams invested heavily into their fiber and multimedia capabilities years ago.

USM produces it's own in house tv productions for ESPN 3/+ games for football and basketball with dedicated announcers and not the PxP person. For baseball USM does a video feed and uses the radio PXP for the commentary

• Big 9 Conference (I mean, the Big Ten has 14, and Big 8 marks probably still reserved unless we buy them - if 10 schools, we can speculate on who's the Little 1)
• "The Conference" - Kinda like "The Ohio State University" or "The Basketball Tournament", put the trademark on being "THE Conference"
• Power 4 Conference (or, basically name the conference whatever they want to call the big conferences)
• "Champions Conference" - Different take on the UEFA Champions League. Be the Conference of Champions

Gulf 9 Conference- for us in the deep south.

In the thread from a few days ago, I also suggested Power 5 Conference or Big 16 or something similar. No geography related names.

Obviously, this is all fun to speculate but we know it'll never happen. It's great message board fodder tho.

It could work either way for USM since you guys are in the middle. But theoretically yes. The conference would split and you could choose to go with the eastern schools, thereby leaving a conference with ODU, Marshall, WKU Charlotte etc and rejoining them in the new conference with some others but not the western part of CUSA. Or you could choose to stay with the western schools, at which point you would be leaving a conference with Rice, UNT etc to join a conference with Rice, UNT etc. CUSA as we know it wouldnt exist (maybe the name would) any more.

I'm pretty sure that if this happens it's going to be the eastern schools walking away from CUSA and forming a new conference. We'll likely have to pay SideShowJoe his exit fees because there won't be the votes to either dissolve or do it amicably.

The split could happen before next season if both groups agree to a fair financial agreement on an interim basis until the new cfp contract is in place. Hopefully this will happen and be announced soon!

I actually like the "Piedmont Conference" for us in the East with the LA Texas group taking the C-USA moniker.
The early Piedmont Airlines (I miss those nice regional flights) connected Atlanta, Asheville, Winston Salem, Roanoke, Cincinnati, Norfolk, Miami and Nashville.
Pretty close to our eastern schools footprint.

I think it can be settled amicably since it's very likely that every school would like this to happen. The autobids are the main sticking point and if there is a solution to that then it will happen.

My guess is that it would coincide with the next CFP contract so no one misses out on that and lets the dust settle on the realignment above us, see what happens with the AAC, etc.

I would like it to happen amicably but doubt it will. If UAB & USM indicate they want to go East then it would leave the west with 5 and few very good options for additions.

Best case scenario is the B12 takes a bunch of AAC teams and they decide to split and we realign east and west with them and some from the SB.
