O/T MEAC to get some prime weekday ESPN FB appearances
https://fbschedules.com/meac-announces-2...-schedule/

I see ONE FRIDAY night game In EARLY October 04-bow 04-bow We'd kill for that slot.

One mid week on Thursday - early Nov. too. MEAC weather is better than MAC weather in November. (Early Nov. in the mid-Atlantic is maybe like early/mid October in many parts of the MAC.

What a joke. Our deal is awful, i say MAC office needs to reach out to espn on what expansion would do to our contract and if it is profitable then start sending out offers. I would rather we try and be proactive instead of caught watching every other conference make moves and we remain idle

That is one way to look at it. We are better off than some G5 conferences.

The alternative explanation for the MEAC deal is that much of corporate America has reached out to HBCUs, etc. in the name of equity. This is best seen in tremendous amount of philanthropy in the last 12 months to HBCUs and other minority endeavors.

Among the HBCUs this fall, Jackson State has as more talent, easily, than the best MAC team. We'll see what kind of TV they get.

I remember a year ago, ESPN agreed to do some Howard games after they signed Makur Maker (Covid destroyed their season).

Attendance is/was always horrible on Saturday's in November. I'm fine w/ the weekday games, would just prefer Thursdays & Fridays, no rivalry games & ESPN3/ESPN+ limited.

Also, I think the MEAC is a HBCU conference. That's probably why they got a 'better' deal. Also wouldn't be surprised if when they say ESPN, ESPNU, & ESPN3, it's almost all ESPN3.

A lot of truth here ... including the point the MAC is better off than some G5 leagues and a lot of peer conferences (C-USA, MVC, A10).

Also, if the MEAC game takes a BG-Akron game away from the public eye in a near empty stadium ... I'm not so sure that's a bad thing.

And the way the Toledos and NIU fans in the world trash mid-week games, they should also be celebrating.

When NIU and Toledo hold the most mid-week games out of anyone in the conference..... you would trash it too.

On rivalry games, there should be a MAC Rivalry Week on the Third Saturday in October. Battle for I75, Battle of the Bricks, Wagon Wheel, one of the Battle of Michigan in rotation.
