Will this happen? Nope. Why? Because it makes too much sense and people of influence have no sense, it seems.

Cincinnati
Memphis
Navy
Army

Sorry BigD, but you can’t just simply force some of your conference mates to leave. Doesn’t work that way.

Perhaps, but it could be done by having the BigXII offer invitations to formulate such a conference. Then again, those folks have less sense than everyone else.

BigD I disagree...only because even without Tx and OU...the Big12 is an autonomous P5 league.
Bringing in some AAC teams might up their tv payout...which is expected to be reduced from anywhere 50-75%.

RE: I introduce, The new AAC
In all seriousness, TV payouts orchestrated the collapse of the old BE, the expansion of the ACC & likely has been instrumental in the UT/OU move. No reason to think TV won't be the ultimate arbiter of how the B-12 saga ends. I'm betting it will be ESPN who comes out the winner (they already are by getting UT/OU to the SEC). Either ESPN gains control of the new B-12 at a price of their liking or they elevate the AAC & cause the demise of the B-12 all together.

You know E$PN is number crunching which way gets them more eyeballs, killing off the B12 and bringing their top teams into the AAC or the other way around.

Everything is a wild guess. Mine would be that it looks like the choice will be between the best possible Big 12 at $20 million per year and total destruction of the AAC and $2 million per year, or leaving at least two out of Memphis, UCF and Houston and making the split $15 million and $4 million.

IF there is any movement and any additions outside the P5, Cincinnati is 100% gone. They are at the top of the list for both the Big12 and the ACC.

ESPN College League ..... SEC + ACC
FOX College League .... Big 10 + PAC 12

There will be enough teams to just play among themselves in ALL sports ...

The rest will be regulated to ESPN+ or FOX streaming for their TV revenues ...

If that were to truly come to fruition, I think ESPN is underestimating how many of us fans will just tune it all out. Why would any true blue Memphis fan continue to watch conferences and channels that essentially destroyed our chance at competing? I know I won’t.

I'm not sure who this @ssclown is, but USF has history and fans? REALLY? Even in Florida, the only fans that I'm aware of are alumni and parents of alumni. And for history, they started play in 1997 and have how many conference titles? Memphis has won 8 conference titles in its history including 2 in the AAC.

Tampa may be a bigger market than Memphis, but I'm willing to bet it's much more fractured among UF, FSU, and USF.
