I'm not sure who this @ssclown is, but USF has history and fans? REALLY? Even in Florida, the only fans that I'm aware of are alumni and parents of alumni. And for history, they started play in 1997 and have how many conference titles? Memphis has won 8 conference titles in its history including 2 in the AAC.
Tampa may be a bigger market than Memphis, but I'm willing to bet it's much more fractured among UF, FSU, and USF.
USF used to be BCS school.
Well that don't mean sh!t to a tree now. Where is the BCS now? Dead - since the advent of the College Football Playoff.
The Big is not going to take Kansas or Iowa State. Doesn’t add any money to their bottom line. It would probably cost them money in the long run.

Sounds like someone from Memphis slipped this dude a roofie and he woke up in South Memphis in a gay bath house with a weird taste in his mouth.
Sounds like he is really worried about Memphis stealing the last bid from the program he is paid to cover.

Tampa Bay is a USF TV stronghold, just like Birmingham is owned by UAB, or Cinncy owns the Cincinnati market. On the other hand the Tigers are the dominant TV Sports team in Memphis inspite of the fact that the SEC sucks a lot of viewers here.
USF doesn't own anything.
Neither does UAB or Cincinnati
Would you rather have 90% of the Memphis tv market, or 5% of the Houston (or Tampa, or fill-in-the-blank) market?

Brian McTaggart is a "Homer" idiot who doesn't give any foundation to support his opinions.
How many TV sets have watched Memphis FB games the last 4-5 years vs. Hooston?
They reside in a top market but hold no traceable market share.

If a bear ***** a football in Houston and there’s no one there to see it, did it really happen?

Past 4 seasons (2017-2020) Memphis was seen by 44.2M viewers in 29 games while Houston was seen by 27.2M in 24 games. Avg of 1.52M vs. 1.13M.
The Houston TV market is over 4X that of Memphis (2.57M vs. 0.62M). Somebody might pick Houston for potential, but they should ask the B10 how that has worked out with Rutgers.
