ESPN: SEC + ACC + 2 schools for 32 team super-Conference.
FOX: B1G + PAC + 6 schools for 32 team super-Conference.

10 game Schedule (7 vs Division + 1 vs each of other 3 divisions)

4 Divisions of 8 teams.
ESPN Divisions:
1 - Clemson, GT, NC, NC State, Duke, WF, Virginia, FSU
2 - Miami, Lousville, Pitt, BC, Syracuse, VT, WVU, ND
3 - Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, SC, Kentucy, Vandy
4 - Texas, OK, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Miss, Miss St, LSU, Missouri
FOX:
1 - USC, UCLA, Stanford, California, Wash, Wash St, Oregon, Oregon St
2 - AZ, AZ State, Colorado, Utah, OK St, Texas Tech, TCU, Kansas St
3 - Rutgers, Maryland, PSU, OSU, Mich, MSU, Purdue, Indiana
4 - Iowa, Nebraska, Minn, Wisc, Kansas, Iowa St, Illinois, NW

This. Anyone believing ESPN will allow UNC and UVa to end up as a Fox property is crazy. As it stands ESPN has the majority of blueblood programs in football and basketball. Miami/FSU, Texas/OU, Bama/Auburn, UGA/UF, UGA/Clemson, UT/UF, Texas/A&M, LSU/Bama, UT/Bama. UF/FSU, Miami/UF, Pitt/WVU, ND/Miami, Clemson/ND, VT/Miami, UNC/UVA, State/Clemson, Miss/Miss State, LSU/Texas, Ark/Texas ... look at those matchups and iconic rivalry games. Throw in content from basketball and the biggest games still remain in the ESPN conference. UNC/Duke, UNC/UK, Duke/UK, Duke/FSU, UVA/UL, UL/UK, UVA/UNC, Cuse/UL, Cuse/Duke, Cuse/UNC, WVU/Cuse, WVU/UL, Pitt/WVU, UF/FSU, UF/UNC, UF/Duke. There are name-brand matchups that garner national attention in both major sports. It looks like a contraction but I think it really is repositioning in order to break away from the NCAA. Can you imagine March Madness without 3 bluebloods and a number of big-time programs? ESPN is on the cusp of controlling a number of significant entities that influence March Madness as well.

I believe UNC, NC State, UVA and VT all end up in a power conference. Whether that's a reconstructed ACC, a bigger SEC, or a bigger Big "Ten" is to be determined - but I don't think any of those four end up in a second tier league (although I don't think all 4 go to either the SEC or the B1G at this time - something could change my mind, but the only way they all stay together is in the ACC).

IF the goal of ACC teams is to 'stay together'.......they will need to make moves PROACTIVELY now.....or they will be TOLD what is happening. Not asked.

But by 2036.....there will be no input requested. Teams won't have options.

The ACC is not a forward thinking conference usually. They are reactive.

True, but we saw what happened with them. The ACC needs to act boldly.

I'm probably like most ACC fans - there are certain schools I'd like VT to keep playing, others I don't care about. My hope is that the Hokies continue playing the interesting teams; getting paid top dollar so they can compete for a national title would be nice, but isn't strictly required.

ACC isn't going to get what it wants......unless what it wants is to keep many irrelevant programs around and have 0 programs that have the means to compete for football titles.

I definitely hope FSU ends up playing with the big boys, however that works out for them - and I will pull for the Noles to beat the Gators forever. FSU has been too good for too long to ever be satisfied with less, IMO.

Virginia Tech has only flirted with the national championship in football for a brief period. I can remember when the Hokies played VMI and Richmond every year! So if the future is games against NC State, Wake Forest, Pitt and Louisville, I can think of worse outcomes.

OTOH, if VT ends up at the big boy table when the music stops, that would be great! ...but I'm not going to stress over it.

IMO there will be 2 spoiled boys' tables and 1 working boy's table but all 3 in the CFP.
