RE: FCS Playoff Expansion Discussion on Table
Possible defection of large public D2 schools moving up, and possible that several FCS schools get the call up.

26 schools (Ivy, MEAC, SWAC) don't participate in the playoffs.

That leaves 101 schools that will be available, following reclassification, for a ratio of 1 in 4.2 making the playoffs. At 32, the ratio is 1 in 3.1. A 24-team bracket is perfect at this time and going to 32 only waters down the playoff. It would be fine to expand to 32 if all schools participated, that would be a ratio of 1 in 3.9.

An persuasive argument for the status quo. Well done.

Just to clarify- the Ivy absolutely does not participate in the playoffs.

However, a MEAC or SWAC team could participate if it was not in its conference championship game or the Celebration Bowl.
