Yeah. They weren’t very original.

When did Norfolk become a state? Many more examples.

That wasn't what I was saying - I was pointing out the reference to Jacksonville State and Florida was incorrect, since Jax State is in Alabama.

Add that new October scheduling model to the long list of reasons why I'm glad we left.

I’m actually shocked CUSA did that well. That’s a better deal than before they lost all their best teams. More money and better outlets than when they had the SB and AAC teams. I’m surprised.

I’ll be surprised if CUSA exists ten years from now. It’s such a pathetic, Texas centric, yet hodgepodge conference at this point. It’s exactly where liberty belongs.

Replying to you here to avoid drawing in Liberty fans to arguments on the main board, but its really not as good as you think. The reason CUSA was locked into such a bad TV deal was because they negotiated terrible contract terms many years ago that didn't adjust to allow the TV revenue to rise year by year. So they never got an adjustment for inflation.

I really don't think there's a way any conference would get less than 750K now days, Especially with the P5 leagues all renegotiating, leaving more holes for TV networks to fill.

I would add, the old deal didn’t have any requirements for weeknight games. The new one includes a bunch of weeknight games. They are sacrificing ticket revenue for more exposure but less money than the MAC and Belt are getting.

Realignment Rumors - The Gift That Keeps On Giving
The worst part is, by having every October game in the whole conference on Tuesday or Wednesday, they are directly competing with themselves for viewership/those slots. These slots will most likely often go to Liberty, or whoever CBS realizes gets the most eyeballs regardless.

"The schools that have signed on to join the league are WAC football members Stephen F. Austin, Abilene Christian, Utah Tech, Southern Utah and Tarleton State and Atlantic Sun football members Austin Peay, Eastern Kentucky, Central Arkansas and North Alabama."

Doesn't this league already exist? I believe they call it CUSA.

I thought schools moving up had to be joining an existing FBS conference. Or has the NCAA once again ignored their own rules.

I can't wait to see the NCAA's response to this. Probably something similar to "thanks, but no"

I'm guessing the NCAA goes for it. It bolsters the numbers of the "left behinds" when the power conferences break away.

And when that happens we are right back in FCS again. I would be surprised if they go for it as a football only conference. If that’s the case we should make the Belt football only so the Monarchs can get in the A10. The AAC should do it too, so they don’t send their non rev teams everywhere. Really. Every G5 league would probably be better off as football only.

The SBC is not going football-only, and ODU is not going to the A10.

Not sure why some people keep talking about the A-10. We’ve gone over and over yet the same people do not listen.
