Pac-12 teams have it in writing that they keep 50% of the men's basketball tournament units they earn as opposed to an even split. That's well over $800,000 extra per game. That's a lot of money if you frequently play in the second weekend of the tournament like the Zags do.

Sun Belt likely goes for a CUSA school if Texas State leaves. I would have my eye on Sam Houston.

Good bet. Will ETSU and UTC eventually move to the SBC, C-USA, or some new eastern conference built out of these two?

If the Sun Belt comes calling I would hope Doc Sander and President Noland move mountains to enable us to join, would be a fantastic home for us. That being said it's incredibly unlikely at this time. I'm honestly not sure that CUSA would be a good fit for us, I think if they eventually reach out that means they've probably lost WKU and/or MTSU. I'm more excited to watch us play old foes like WCU/UTC/Furman as opposed to NMSU/FIU or even LA Tech. Travel costs would also be brutal.

Makes sense — certainly for UTEP. Texas State says no to MWC. Who else will join MWC as well as PAC-12?

They will try to get Hawaii to jump in for all sports. They are deliberately trying to avoid adding FCS schools for the time being, but also the cost of going up has spiked significantly and some FCS powers aren't able to come up with that money on the front end.
