P2, AQ3,G5
In light of yesterday's news about OU and UT, I've been pondering how to come up with a permanent solution to FBS realignment. Big changes could be coming in both realignment and playoffs, as well as player compensation issues in the near future. The following assumes all GoRs have been invalidated by Congressional or SCOTUS actions. Here's my vision of what it should look like when the dust settles. Knowing how we all like to shoot holes in other posters' ideas, here's some target practice.

Post season consists of the CFP and the bowls. There are no CCGs.
The CFP expands to 16 teams with 15 AQ. The P2 get 6 teams each - the top two finishers in each division. The AQ3 get an auto bid for their champion. The highest ranked team not in an AQ conference gets the at-large bid. The eight highest ranked conference or division champions host the first round games played the first week in December. No teams from the same conference will play each other in the first round.
