I don’t see the pac 12 taking Oklahoma state, Kansas state, Iowa State, or Baylor under any circumstance. If the pac 12 passed on TCU, I could see 1 from UNLV, New Mexico or Colorado State fill out the 8 team east side.

Kansas definitely to the PAC if the PAC can get them.

I think PAC leadership would be OK with Tech and Houston because Texas is a rapidly expanding state and those schools will have rising academics.

TCU wouldn't work alone as its too small but is OK in a combo with Tech/Houston.

No, California is too important and Texas is too far away.

It's the PAC side that I am not convinced about. IMO, the PAC has basically no good reason to add what IMO are pretty low-value football brands a thousand miles from their cultural core.

But hey, I've been wrong plenty times before.

I appreciate your clear-eyed view of the PAC. We disagree on the probability of what would be a comparatively tame realignment scenario (Kansas and one other to the PAC). But, it's refreshing to talk to someone who also acknowledges that a 4 team Big XII "pod" in the PAC is ridiculous.

I'm curious, what about a Rice/UH pairing?
