We heard this "move to the spring" talk with FCS last year.

There's certainly some positives but unless the schools (G5, FCS, etc.) can make enough money/exposure on TV contracts and similar things to justify it - makes no sense.

Football is meant to be played in the fall, that's when everyone else in America plays it and that's how you stay relevant even if not a 'Bama or Clemson or Texas.

I asked Mario Moccia about the Texas schools voting as a block and shaping the direction of the WAC. He gave a very detailed answer. Go to the 1:43 mark of the interview. It's the first question that is asked.

Thanks for posting that. What he said is about what I would have guessed. SFA/SHSU/Lamar have a lot of history together and a lot of similarities, but not so much the others. UTRGV has always been an outlier among TX schools, ACU is a private conservative Christian school, and Tarleton was off the radar as a D2.

Also noticed that 2nd question, where he answered that NMSU is now too good to get buy games.

Doubt you would ever get all the G5 schools to agree to a spring schedule as it would compete with the NCAA Basketball Tourney for there fans interest. Do you really think Cincinnati for example would want there fans to have to make a choice between a football game and a basketball game?

I think the even bigger concern is the conflict between spring football and the NFL Combine, and possibly the NFL draft. That could be a killer for recruiting and eliminate any chance of being considered anything more than a sideshow.
