I got a chance today to listen to the "In The Circle" podcast. Their last few have had a lot of JMU coverage.
If you haven't listened to the Loren LaPorte interview, I highly recommend it. Plus, some really good commentary on the conference that shall not be named.

When did that happen?

Thought she was done playing, but guess not.

Yes it was well known that she was going to UNC for grad school as they talked about it during CWS. I am guessing she then decided to use the extra year from Covid and play softball there.

It does suck losing her, especially in seeing how the transfer portal has been used and manipulated. But this is exactly the reason why they implemented the grad transfer rule. Get your diploma and transfer to a school that has a graduate program your school does not provide, and use up your remaining eligibility. Kudos to Sara and good luck in Chapel Hill.

I think Kate Gordon’s sister also signed or is committed to play at Penn St. I was told “she wanted to blaze her own path” and don’t really consider JMU for that reason. It wouldn’t surprise me if this fort defiance pitcher and Kate Gordon’s sister got recruited together in some manner.

Also, how is no one calling this publication out for forgetting the best softball player that has ever played at Fort Defiance…. Megan Good. I’m pretty sure she signed with JMU less than 20 years ago…..
