If all the top teams end up in the same conference, several won't be top teams anymore. Look what's happened to some of the old top teams in bigger better conferences already.

I'll take a stab at the ACC wanting Memphis question...
Gives them a footprint in the heart of SEC country?

So according to you, TAM voted in favour because they want Texas in the conference, correct? 03-lmfao01-wingedeagle

You are neck and neck with incubus below who thinks Pastner should still be our coach, and Pippen is better than Jordan, for genius of the week. You should both be proud.

Yes, you would have to be a combination insider/ambassador/Sherlock Holmes to uncover evidence that TAM didn't want Texas in the conference.

You should both try to avoid posting drunk.

If Duke UNC and Virginia remain in the ACC there’s no chance Memphis gets in. None.

Make no mistake...A&M was LIVID with Texas joining the league.
They had made a verbal agreement with former commish Mike Slive that Texas would not be invited without the Argues being okay with it. A&M left the Big 12 as did Colorado and Nebraska to get away from Texas domineering the conference with its sizable influence.
The SEC then went behind A&M's back and struck a deal with OU and Texas.
That is why A&M was the source of the leak... that's why they stated they wanted to be the ONLY school in the SEC from Texas.
The Board of Regents ORDERED the Texas A&M president to vote for inclusion.

Now I get it. You don't like Stammers, and Stammers doesn't like you.
I've been on the receiving end of Stammers' ire myself. It's not fun...it sucks.
But he was correct. A&M's president WANTED to reject Texas being included, there had been talks with other schools about a vote to block the measure... I was hearing Arkansas and Missouri...2 teams also in a conference with Texas who weren't fond of them.
Let it go man.

Make no mistake... they knew before the announcement it was going to be an unanimous vote. Regardless of whether T&M wanted Texas or not. Anyone who didnt realize that is 2 steps behind the action.

Those school presidents did what they were ordered to do...personal biases aside.
There have been unanimous votes before for league inclusions, when in reality objections were made.
We weren't in that room during the vote, we dunno what was said.

STAMMERS was INCORRECT----they voted in favor ---it doesn't matter the reason that he was wrong--it don't matter if they liked it or not---the fact is they voted YES

I do think STAMMERS was correct that some didn't really like it----but the facts are they voted yes------and REMEMBER STAMMERS only deals with facts

another perspective.
Without Texas and Oklahoma...the Big 12 is about on par with the AAC.
I'd think some sort of merger to keep television contracts should occur...otherwise the current payouts for Big12 schools don't make sense.

Still way better. You still have Kansas, OK state, Texas tech, Baylor. If anything it’s on par with the Old big east.
