New round of expansion on the horizon???
So this story was published in the local paper down here in New Orleans. They are saying that Texas and Oklahoma reached out to the SEC about joining up. I don't know how true or valid this is, but it would have HUGE complications for College Football.

Report: Texas and Oklahoma in talks with SEC about joining the league

Well the difference is that in the future, ALL teams will have a shot at the CFP.
Currently, only half the teams can get in.
Having said that, there are only about a dozen teams that can really win it. That is no different now than it will be in the future.

RE: New round of expansion on the horizon???
If the SEC expands to 16 teams, which appears likely, it is almost inevitable that the future will see four 16 team leagues. Those 64 teams will invariably divest themselves from the NCAA and form their own rule making organization. It doesn’t take a Nostradamus to make this prediction.

These 64 teams will be, in essence, a feeder organization for professional football. Schools that are outside this group may, or may not, maintain a football team but it will be more akin to true amateur sports with only an extremely rare player ever going to the next level. For the most part these schools will not have their games broadcast except perhaps locally. Changes are coming.

The current P5 is the same 64 teams. Why would they do this now and haven't done it before? What's the magic about 4x16 compared to 5x10 to 14?

The point of this enterprise by Tx and Ok is to prevent the NCAA college football tournament. They like it the way it is better than the way it should be.

We probably won't. We MAY eeek out a win, but I believe an ass-kicking is out of the question.

We should be able to run the ball. We will have a better offensive line.
It's going to depend on our QB not trying to do too much, and our defense stepping up big.
