Jordan on 1/6 Commission Akin to Bin Laden Lieutenant on 9/11 Commission
Quote:Former advisor to Vice President Mike Pence Olivia Troye said Tuesday on MSNBC’s “All In” that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) appointing Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) to the House Select Committee investigating the Capitol riots was akin to putting Osama Bin Laden’s lieutenant to investigate the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Troy said, “We still don’t have a step-by-step factual account of how this came to be, what led to it, what happened, what were the failures, who was involved. That’s what this committee is going to try to get to. But the last person that needs to be sitting on this committee is Jim Jordan.”

She continued, “To me, when you look at this investigation from a national security perspective, I look at Jim Jordan, and I think about the 9/11 commission. Now, would you appoint one of Osama Bin Laden’s lieutenants or deputies really to serve on the 9/11 commission? Would you have done that to get to a fact-finding mission? Because that’s how I view this. Because appointing Jim Jordan and letting him serve on this committee is basically obscuring, is doing a coverup, and it open secures the facts, and it prevents us from getting to the bottom of this. It gives him a platform to pull his usual shenanigans where he will attack officials. He will attack law enforcement. He has done it already on January 6 hearings.”

Hayes said, “Yeah. I mean, you know this, and I know this obviously the scale and scope of 9/11 is extremely different than what we saw here in terms of the dealt toll and the like.”

Troy said, “Absolutely.”

Pelosi rejects Reps Jim Jordan and Jim Banks for Jan 6 committee—McCarthy pulls all GOP picks

Quote:In a surprise move, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has rejected two of Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy's GOP picks to serve on her January 6 special committee. The two lawmakers who Pelosi refuses to seat on the committee are Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio and Rep. Jim Banks of Indiana.

In response, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who made the picks, has pulled all GOP members from Pelosi's committee. The rules of the committee's formation gave Pelosi veto power over McCarthy's selections.

Both of these congressman had voted against certifying the electoral college votes for Joe Biden on January 6, according to The Hill, something that many Democrat legislators did in 2016 when they refused to vote to certify Donald Trump as president.

McCarthy named the lawmakers on Monday, having agreed to work withe Pelosi on the Democrat-led "select" committee despite the bill to form a January 6 commission having failed to pass.

Those lawmakers were: Rep. Jim Banks: chair of the Republican Study Committee, Rep. Jim Jordan: top Republican for the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Kelly Armstrong: served on the House Judiciary Committee for Trump's first impeachment, Rep. Rodney Davis: described as a "moderate" and top Republican for the House Administration Committee, Rep. Troy Nehls: former sheriff who supported Capitol Police in turning back rioters who tried to break into the House floor on Jan. 6.

Banks accepted the post, saying that "we need strong leaders who will force the Democrats and the media to answer questions so far ignored. Among them, why was the Capitol underprepared and vulnerable to the attack on January 6?" Pelosi apparently doesn't agree.

In a statement, Pelosi wrote that she had spoken to McCarthy "about the objections raised about Representatives Jim Banks and Jim Jordan and the impact their appointments may have on the integrity of the investigation. I also informed him that I was prepared to appoint Representatives Rodney Davis, Kelly Armstrong and Troy Nehls, and requested that he recommend two other Members.

"With respect for the integrity of the investigation, with an insistence on the truth and with concern about statements made and actions taken by these Members, I must reject the recommendations of Representatives Banks and Jordan to the Select Committee.

"The unprecedented nature of January 6th demands this unprecedented decision."
She stated that the goal of the select committee, which she terms "The Select Committee on the January 6th Insurrection," is to "investigate and report upon the facts and causes of the terrorist mob attack on the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021. It will also be charged with reporting its findings, conclusions and recommendations for preventing future attacks."

In refusing to seat the members of the committee chosen by Republican leadership, Pelosi has signaled that she likely doesn't want lawmakers who disagree with the intent of the committee to be on the committee at all. Initially, Pelosi had proposed a bipartisan committee.

McCarthy Statement about Pelosi’s Abuse of Power on January 6th Select Committee

Quote:Washington, D.C. – Today, House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement about Speaker Pelosi’s abuse of power regarding the Select Committee on January 6th:

“Speaker Nancy Pelosi has taken the unprecedented step of denying the minority party’s picks for the Select Committee on January 6. This represents an egregious abuse of power and will irreparably damage this institution. Denying the voices of members who have served in the military and law enforcement, as well as leaders of standing committees, has made it undeniable that this panel has lost all legitimacy and credibility and shows the Speaker is more interested in playing politics than seeking the truth.

“Unless Speaker Pelosi reverses course and seats all five Republican nominees, Republicans will not be party to their sham process and will instead pursue our own investigation of the facts.”

This whole thing is a Leftist Clown Show, being perpetrated by a bunch of Leftist clowns, for the purposes of showing all their Leftist clown minions that they are in charge in DC.....The Leftists can not govern worth a crap. Nobody is better at protesting, obstructing, investigating, lying, or implementing a scheme to steal a national election. However, when it comes down to the actual nuts and bolts running of a government the Leftists truly suck at it. And, they don't seem to care that they suck at it as long as they're in charge.

She just torpedoed the commission and probably did it on purpose.

Liz Cheney Speaks Out After McCarthy Pulls Picks From January 6 Select Committee

Quote:Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) criticized House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for his response to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) decision to veto his choices for a January 6th Select Committee on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters outside of the Capitol after McCarthy pulled his selections for the committee, Cheney said, “I am absolutely confident that we will have a nonpartisan investigation, that it will look at the facts, that it will go wherever the facts may lead. There are three members that the Minority Leader proposed that [the] Speaker did not object to. She has objected to two members and the rhetoric around this from the Minority Leader and from those two members has been disgraceful.”

Cheney noted, “This must be an investigation that is focused on facts and the idea that any of this has become politicized is really unworthy of the office that we all hold and unworthy of our Republic.”

She added, “I agree with what the Speaker has done.”

Cheney was also asked if she thinks that McCarthy deserves to be Speaker of the House next year in the aftermath of his actions.

Cheney answered, “I think that any person who would be third in line to the presidency must demonstrate a commitment to the Constitution and a commitment to the rule of law and Minority Leader McCarthy has not done that.”

“We must have this select committee investigation. This is our only option left. People must be willing to put their oath to the Constitution above partisan politics and above party,” she added.

“There must be an investigation that is nonpartisan, that is sober, that is serious, that gets to the facts, wherever they may lead,” Cheney said, per The Hill. “And at every opportunity, the minority leader has attempted to prevent the American people from understanding what happened to block this investigation.”

As The Daily Wire previously reported, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) vetoed two Republican selections for the January 6th Select Committee on Wednesday, sparking intense responses from the other side of the aisle.

As Politico reported, “Pelosi rejected Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.), who was tapped to serve as ranking member, and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), both of whom voted to challenge certification of President Joe Biden’s electoral wins earlier this year.”

As The Daily Wire also noted, “Banks, after being appointed, said he would ‘force Democrats and the media’ to ‘answer questions so far ignored. Among them, why was the Capitol so unprepared and vulnerable to attack on January 6th?’”

“He also suggested that he would try to steer the Select Committee towards investigating political violence more broadly, probing not just the January 6th riot, but also ongoing violence in Democrat-run cities like Portland, Oregon,” The Daily Wire added.

In a statement, Pelosi said the “unprecedented nature of January 6th demands this unprecedented decision.”

After Pelosi vetoed two of his selections, McCarthy then “abruptly yanked all five Republican appointees from Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) Democrat-led committee,” per The Daily Wire.

BREAKING: White House expresses support for Pelosi after she drops two key Republicans from her Jan 6 committee

Quote:After House Speaker Nancy Pelosi refused to seat two GOP lawmakers to her "select committee" on the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, the White House expressed their full support for her intentions.

A reporter asked White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, in a press gaggle aboard Air Force One, about the White House statement that was released Wednesday afternoon in support of Pelosi.

"The White House statement that was released just before we took off, among the things that were listed in the statement, they're confident in Speaker Pelosi's ability to proceed with an investigation that is full, investigative, and transparent. The word bipartisan was not included in there, and I'm wondering," the reporter asked, "is the White House disappointed that Speaker Pelosi's investigation as it will proceed will be technically bipartisan but not truly bipartisan?"

"First," Psaki said, "we stated at the time that we were disappointed that there wasn't full bipartisan support for a select committee when there was an opportunity to vote for that." This in reference to the fact that after the House passed a bill to create a "9/11 style commission" to address the afternoon riot at the Capitol on January 6, the Senate did not take up the charge, and Republican lawmakers largely rejected the proposition.

"We also have long stated our support for Speaker Pelosi and getting to the bottom of what happened on January 6, a dark day in our democracy, and we support her efforts in moving forward on that initiative," Psaki said.

In a follow-up, a reporter asked "Are you concerned that no matter what product comes from Speaker Pelosi's investigation, or Leader McCarthy's separate investigation, that no matter what comes of it, the result is always going to be perceived as partisan based on what happened today?"

"I think many Americans across the country," Psaki replied, "regardless of their political affiliation, look at the events of January 6 as a dark day in our democracy. The President strongly supports taking steps to get to the bottom of what happened so he can prevent it from happening in the future."

In a surprise move on Wednesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi rejected two of Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy's GOP picks to serve on her January 6 "select committee." The two lawmakers who Pelosi refuses to seat on the committee are Rep.

Both of these congressman had voted against certifying the electoral college votes for Joe Biden on January 6, something that many Democrat legislators did in 2016 when they refused to vote to certify Donald Trump as president.

Banks responded to Pelosi's veto, saying "I'm a sitting member of Congress and served my country in Afghanistan and the Speaker knows how hard I will fight for my country."

McCarthy named the lawmakers on Monday, having agreed to work with Pelosi on the Democrat-led "select" committee despite the bill to form a January 6 commission having failed to pass.

It always was a sham as they were never going to get to the bottom of things. Why were doors open? Why did officers allow people in? Were there FBI operatives/informers in the crowd? Jan 6 was a setup and and it would appear the Whitmer kidnapping plot was a trial run by the FBI

CNN Accidentally Admits the Inconvenient Truth About Partisan Capitol Riots Committee in Latest Report

Quote:As we previously reported, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s decision not to seat Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) to her Capitol riots committee, coupled with committee member Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) announcing her agreement with the call, provides more evidence that this whole process is no more than a gigantic partisan sham Democrats have put together to try and drag out the issue through the 2022 midterms.

New information this morning further lends credulity to the claim, with CNN reporting Pelosi “is considering” naming Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) to the committee:

During a news conference on Capitol Hill on Thursday morning, Pelosi said, “We’ll see,” when asked about the potential appointment.

“I mean, there are some members that would like to be on it,” Pelosi added. “But, we’ll see.”

Rep. Bennie Thompson, a Mississippi Democrat who’s been appointed chairman of the new committee, said Thursday that adding Kinzinger to the panel has been discussed with the speaker. Thompson said if Pelosi signs off, Kinzinger will be a “welcome addition.”

Of course Kinzinger would be considered a “welcome addition,” considering he’s shown himself to not being above making fantastical allegations about his Republican colleagues and the Capitol riots that can’t be proven just like Democrats have.

The news that Pelosi was considering Kinzinger for a spot on the committee sparked some obscene gushing from CNN White House correspondent John Harwood, who took to the Twitter machine to state that though Kinzinger and Cheney were considered “outcasts” in the GOP, “they are still Republicans,” which in his mind confirmed the committee would be even “more bipartisan” if he was seated:

An hour later, a clearly moved Harwood followed-up by suggesting that Kinzinger and Cheney would “add value” to the investigation because they were “seeking to illuminate” the truth:

First things first. Neither Kinzinger nor Cheney have proven that they’re interested in “illuminating” the truth. Kinzinger has all but outright accused his own colleagues of being complicit in the Capitol riots by supposedly having advance knowledge, a dangerous allegation he has yet to substantiate in any meaningful way. It got him a lot of media attention and adulation, though, which was the whole point of the exercise.

Cheney has, without evidence, accused House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) of trying to cover up what happened on January 6th because she believes some of her fellow House Republicans and former President Trump “incited” the rioters and must be held accountable for having the nerve to question the election results.

But beyond the insinuation that Cheney and Kinzinger are brave Republicans who are willing to risk their political careers in order to speak Truth to Power or whatever, let’s remember that Harwood is not an impartial journalist. As I’ve noted before, Harwood was caught crossing the line back in 2015 from being a supposedly neutral reporter to being an arm of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign:

The following question was asked on Sept. 21, 2015, via email, to the chairman of a major presidential campaign, John Podesta: “What should I ask Jeb?”

At the time, Jeb Bush was still a leading candidate to challenge Hillary Clinton for the White House — and had more money behind him.

The question didn’t come from a campaign surrogate or an opinion host — it came from the chief Washington correspondent at CNBC, John Harwood. And just to make sure he hit Bush where the Clinton campaign — which still viewed the former Florida governor as its most likely opponent for 2016 — wanted him to most, Harwood went to Clinton’s campaign chief to do all the thinking for him.

And after Harwood hosted a Republican presidential primary debate in November 2015, he sent this email:

“I imagine that Obama feels some (sad) vindication at this demonstration of his years-long point about the opposition party veering off the rails,” Harwood wrote to Podesta afterward. “I certainly am feeling that way with respect to how I questioned Trump at our debate.”

There was also this:

Contra to what he wants you to believe, Harwood is a partisan actor in all this himself and would not be praising anything he felt would be detrimental to the narratives and goals of the Democratic party. While I’m sure it was unintentional, his tweets were an accidental admission that his network realizes this committee was designed to be a wildly one-sided affair, and is responding accordingly.

Republicans Have One Move Left to Make Regarding Liz Cheney and They Better Make It

Quote:To say Rep. Liz Cheney jumped the shark yesterday would be to ignore the fact that she’s been doing backflips over marine animals for a while at this point. Still, what transpired was ridiculous, and it also completely exposed what Cheney has become, at least to the extent that hadn’t already happened.

As RedState reported, the Wyoming congresswoman publically came out in support of Nancy Pelosi refusing to seat Jim Jordan and Jim Banks on the partisan January 6th select committee.

Cheney went on to accuse Kevin McCarthy, not Nancy Pelosi, of not wanting a “serious investigation.” But what truly makes Cheney look like the snake she is in this clip is not what she said specifically (though, fluffing Nancy Pelosi is bad enough), but rather, what’s being confirmed by her participation on the committee in the first place.

If Cheney were as principled as she and her dwindling number of supporters say she is, she would be refusing to participate until Pelosi removes Bennie Thompson, Jamie Raskin, and Adam Schiff from the committee. Thompson is the committee chair. Yet, he objected to the 2004 election. Raskin objected to the 2016 election of Donald Trump. Meanwhile, Adam Schiff is a rabidly dishonest person who leaks like crazy to boot.

For Cheney to claim that this committee is righteous, publicly trashing her own party in the process, while some of its members literally objected to previous elections shows an incredible amount of hypocrisy on her part, and I know she’s smart enough to see the contradiction. That she won’t speak out against it shows this isn’t about principle for her. Rather, it’s about a vendetta.

Given that, Republicans have one move left to make – remove Cheney from the GOP caucus.

This foolishness has gone on long enough. It was one thing to obsess over on January 6th. It’s another to lock arms with Nancy Pelosi, endorsing her ridiculously staffed committee, in order to backstab Republicans who are being denied a seat at the table. Cheney is clearly not running for re-election at this point. There is no relationship left to save, and if Kevin McCarthy wants to be Speaker in 2022, he needs to show he’s strong enough to make tough decisions. Yes, there will be blowback, but there has to be some level of unity within the caucus. Members looking to destroy that have no business being a part of it anymore.

If Republicans can’t make this simple, easy move, they are telegraphing to voters that they’ll simply fold under pressure over future issues. Now is the time to stand up and let it be known that the GOP isn’t going to tolerate this kind of garbage. Cheney has to go.

RE: Jordan on 1/6 Commission Akin to Bin Laden Lieutenant on 9/11 Commission
Pelosi Might Add Conspiracy Theorist Denver Riggleman As Adviser To January 6 Committee

Quote:Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is considering adding conspiracy theorist and former Rep. Denver Riggleman as an adviser to her partisan January 6 committee.

The report comes just one day after Pelosi rejected ranking Republicans Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio and Rep. Jim Banks of Indiana from sitting on her 13-member January 6 commission. In her statement riddled with overdramatic lies claiming the Capitol riot was “the worst domestic assault on American Democracy since the Civil War” and a “terrorist mob attack.”

Riggleman is a friend of the corrupt corporate media who used his past interest searching for Bigfoot as an example to condemn QAnon and punish Republicans for raising questions about alleged voter fraud in the 2020 election.

“I’ve been a victim of disinformation,” Riggleman told MSNBC in December. “…I just wanted people to know that belief systems can completely overtake your life view … We’re certainly seeing insanity being weaponized and monetized and a massive grift across the internet and all of it’s based on things that are massively false they’re not even close to being real.”

Riggleman also expressed his support for censoring the dissemination of COVID “disinformation” online which he said, “might be the biggest conspiratorial grift in history.”

Riggleman is not the only Republican who has chosen to cross his party and join forces with Pelosi. Rep. Liz Cheney, who was ousted from her position in House leadership due after she refused to support the GOP, sided with the Democrat who accused Jordan and Banks of being unfit to investigate the “truth” about January 6.

“I agree with what the speaker has done,” she said.

RE: Jordan on 1/6 Commission Akin to Bin Laden Lieutenant on 9/11 Commission
Democrats On Performative Capitol Riot Commission Made More Election Challenges Than Republicans Pelosi Kicked Off

Quote:In rationalizing her move to boot Reps. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio., and Jim Banks, R-Ind., off her Jan. 6 Capitol riot commission, Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made an illusory claim that contradicts her decision to permit extremist Democrats.

Pelosi said Jordan and Banks “had made statements and taken actions that I think would impact the integrity of the committee,” and that such statements and actions “just made it ridiculous to put them on such a committee seeking the truth.”

The first flaw with these remarks is that any “truth” will come to light from a 13-person commission comprised of those who are left-leaning enough to desire the riot to stay on replay in the American psyche forever. Furthermore, the left’s relationship with the “truth” includes referring to a small minority of Trump supporters as white supremacists worthy of a trip to the Gulag.

We know the commission is a political ploy. It’s a tool to frame all on the right as “insurrectionists” no different than, as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Mark Milley articulated, “Nazis.” There have already been several investigations, but Pelosi and the left want it to never end. And why would they?

Putting the tired charade’s merit aside, Pelosi’s rebuke of Jordan and Banks contradicts the resumes of those she handpicked to lead the Trump Derangement Syndrome initiative. If Democrat leadership is truly so appalled that Republicans would vote to contest the results of the 2020 presidential election, why did she appoint someone as chairman who has done the same?

If Pelosi was operating on the same “integrity” definition to vet commission members, Mississippi Rep. Bennie Thompson would not have been appointed chairman. After all, it was Thompson who on Jan. 6, 2005, voted against the Ohio certification of George W. Bush’s win over John Kerry. Whereas Republicans in 2020 determined the election was fraudulent based on various incidents across the country of ignoring the election laws on the books, Thompson and others bucked the system for a baseless protest.

Here is the other notable aspect of Pelosi’s remarks. We know Jordan and Banks both opposed Democrat lawmakers who sought to impeach Trump twice.

So: What about Thompson and his colleagues who have opposed election certification to try and take down sitting presidents? Why does Pelosi allege a conflict of interest within the partisan commission regarding Jordan and Banks but none for those who have tirelessly worked to undermine the elections of Bush and Trump?

Pelosi’s chairman also joined Democrats in June 2008 to put forth impeachment articles against Bush. Bush was, in part, accused of “Misleading Congress and the American People in an Attempt to Destroy Medicare” and “Systematically Undermining Efforts to Address Global Climate Change.” You get the gist.

Thompson then tried much of the same in 2017 and 2018 with Trump. He voted to impeach Trump over not only the Russian collusion hoax but supported an effort to remove the president for his Charlottesville, Va., remarks and negative opinions on the National Football League and activist former quarterback Colin Kaepernick, among other things.

Given that Thompson sought to impeach Trump for his “fine people on both sides” Charlottesville comments that were purposefully taken out of context by corrupt media, it seems clear that the congressman is unfit to serve on Pelosi’s “truth” concerned commission.

Thompson’s case is not the only hypocrisy in the charade. Reps. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and Jamie Raskin, D-Md., are two other leftist members of the commission that do not fit the “integrity” bill.

Take Schiff. While serving as the ranking minority on the House Intelligence Committee, the Democrat was one of the most media-hungry Russia-collusion hoaxers.

Schiff prompted a conspiracy theory that Carter Page, a Trump campaign adviser, was a Russian asset who aimed to sway Trump. However, the FBI did not locate a shred of evidence to support these allegations against Page, which were funneled through a dossier subsidized by the Hillary Clinton campaign, the Democratic Party, and the FBI.

The Democrat claimed there was “ample evidence of collusion in plain sight” and gained social credit from his allies for going full-throttle into the Trump takedown fight. But Robert Mueller’s lengthy investigation that Schiff fought to get found no collusion.

Raskin, vice-chair of the House Administration Committee and a member of the Judiciary and Oversight Committees, has arguably exhibited even more Trump Derangement Syndrome than Schiff (which is impressive). On Jan. 6, 2017, Raskin challenged the certification of Trump’s victory over Clinton.

“I have an objection because 10 of the 29 electoral votes cast by Florida were cast by electors not lawfully certified because they violated Florida’s prohibition against dual officeholders,” he claimed. Despite his objections to electoral processes, he’s on Pelosi’s commission.

In addition to being a Russian hoaxer and sparking the first impeachment, Raskin joined Democrats in trying to impeach Trump for inciting the Capitol riot after Trump had already left office, stating that Trump’s notion of the election results being a “Big Lie” led to violence.

If Raskin determined the former president caused the breach due to refuting the election results and lacks moral character, where would that place him in 2017? As a saint fighting for democracy? Please.

Thompson, Schiff, and Raskin have all done and said worse things than the alleged “offenses” Pelosi cites for kicking Banks and Jordan off her “integrity” and “truth” commission. We know the real reason Banks and Jordan are not permitted to take part.

The commission is a hyperbolic and performative measure to offer half the country as “insurrectionists.” It’s a dangerous game. Conservatives lose by pretending otherwise.
