Covid Vaccine
First of all, I was correct on predicting vaccination rates. It will end up being around the same as seasonal flu over the next year or so.

Second, at what point does the left and Biden come out and flat blame blacks and hispanics instead of beating around the proverbial bush?

Third, the left should now understand 100% free and available health services doesnt correlate with outcomes.

You know what we don't talk about enough? Vaccines. Would be interested in hearing the board's thoughts on vaccines.

RE: Covid Vaccine
When your Dr ask you does he or she say...

have you got your flu vaccine or did you get your flu shot? Covid is a SHOT and not a vaccine. Its not going to keep you from getting covid but supposedly help keep you from getting really sick when you do catch it. Some people will never catch covid and millions more will and never know it. Just like with the flu after getting the shot.

The flu shot is around 45 to 55% affective when it comes to keeping you from getting the flu. I say probably a lot less because millions more will think they have a 3 to 7 day cold/infection and never go to the doctor. The same is taking place with those that got their Covid shot...

there's millions that most likely had Covid but not sick enough to go get tested. This is no vaccine

RE: Covid Vaccine
Are Party Politics Really the Reason Vaccine Rates Are Stalling?

Quote:The COVID-19 vaccine has been available to most adults since April, when Joe Biden announced that 90% of American adults would be eligible to receive it. Things started out fine on the vaccine front but started significantly dropping off in the last few months.

On April 23, the government announced a pause on the Johnson & Johnson vaccine distribution due to some extremely rare complications that could arise from them. From that point onward, the vaccine hesitancy really kicked into overdrive and the rates never recovered.

Now, though, the pundit class points at the high number of unvaccinated and vaccine-hesitant Republicans and claim this is a partisan issue. We’ve been over this before, but there is more to it. Complicating matters is the constant claim that Fox News is at fault for convincing Republicans to not get vaccinated. When you look at the numbers, though, it is far less cut and dry than simply claiming Fox News and Republicans are trying to doom us all.

Looking at numbers from the Kaiser Family Foundation’s polling, Republicans do make up a majority of those unvaccinated. But at the same time, people of color also make up the majority of those unvaccinated. As you may recall, while Donald Trump grew his voting base among people of color in 2020, it would be very foolish to say that black and Hispanic families are now solidly Republican.

The issue is somewhat partisan, but there are several factors that make this way less about the politics of the vaccine and the status of the people who have gotten vaccinated and who have not. Simply looking at party affiliation only tells part of the story, when the rest of the story (like most issues) is far more complex than a single talking point.

When you look at the areas of the country that are vaccinated, they are largely urban. In fact, 72% of urban residents polled have gotten at least one dose, versus the 64% of suburban adults and the 54% of rural adults who have gotten at least one dose. More importantly, only 8% of urban adults say they will never get dosed, versus 15% of suburban adults and 24% of rural adults.

Urban areas tend to be more Democratic, yes, but also have higher levels of income and access to education. Except where race is concerned, where the rate of Democrats is as high or higher, but income and education are significantly lower. Likewise, while rural adults tend to be more Republican, they also tend to have lower incomes and have less access to healthcare and education.

Income and education seem to be playing a big part here. 79% of adults with a college degree have gotten at least one dose while only 59% without a degree have. The vast majority (92%) of unvaccinated workers don’t believe their employer should mandate vaccines as a condition for working, while 40% of vaccinated workers feel the same way.

Statistically, yes, Republicans and Republican areas tend to be less vaccinated and more vaccine-hesitant than Democratic areas, but that is just a sliver of the information available right now. This isn’t a clear-cut partisan issue, and you simply cannot blame it all on Republican politicians and Fox News.

Media outlets like NPR have reported extensively on vaccine side effects and complications. No one in the media batted an eye when Kamala Harris said she didn’t trust a vaccine developed during the Trump administration, and they didn’t seem to mind when the government paused the J&J vaccine over concerns that were literally a one-in-a-million shot.

What’s more, they repeatedly blasted Operation: Warp Speed as a partisan longshot that would never actually work, and then downplayed the achievement the moment it turned out to be successful. It’s no wonder people across the country don’t trust the vaccines or the science behind them: the science has been under nonstop attack from all sides simply because of partisan affiliation.

But that’s what makes this pandemic really bad. We’ve managed to turn it into a deeply divided partisan issue with little to no chance of actually healing over it. The virus rages on, but at least people have their talking points lined up.

You know, I was on the fence until that one poster quoted CNN and then that convinced me that I need to fall in line and do what I'm told.

I've stated a lot on this and do it for a living... so I'm highly informed on the issues. I don't work for the government so I don't have an agenda... I think most people should get them. I know probably 30-40% of the population will not... and it will be mostly bi-partisan.... regardless of what you're told.

I think the people who need it most live in crowded cities that skew left and those that need it least live in rural areas that skew right. The determinant of need is crowded vs rural, but the agenda will speak to left vs right.

I've said from the start, my hope is that people will take disease transmission (of ANY sort) through things like sneezes and coughs and wiping noses and 'open' food and move us voluntarily towards a more protected society... most/more people who are sick or are not vaccinated and visit crowded areas wearing masks... fewer 'common' food utensils etc... but no MANDATES... and certainly not any 'star bellied sneeches' like a vaccine passport or the pressure exerted by many already.

If you don't have the facts, being a bully isn't going to change any minds. Vaccines AND shots work, but are not 100%, not riskless and not for everyone. Viruses mutate. Its what they do. The human body adapts. Its what it does.

For the record, Ive already had the China bioweapon flu and will not be getting the shot.

If the risk of death from the flu is greater than the risk of the shot, I would get the shot.

If the risk of the shot is greater than the china flu i dont get the shot.

Its a personal choice and nobody's damn business. So all the vax pushers, govt., karens, prog filth can all frick right on off.

my body my choice.

Kinda weird that all of the sudden GOP leaders are coming out and telling citizens to get the vaccine. I guess the donors got loud.

Cool. Now let's see a breakdown of other relevant data such as co-morbidities and age of those who died. I think that would give a much better picture of the real scenario. We don't know why they didn't get the Wuflu shot. Maybe they already had underlying health risks that made the risks of the shot worse. Maybe they were 95 years old with one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. We don't know any more than what fits a particular narrative.

I'm simply saying correlation does not equal causation.

RE: Covid Vaccine
I haven’t had the vaccine. My friends dad and a couple of buddies went to get vaccinated. They signed up but got tired of waiting so they left. A week later they all got notices that had tested positive. Also, I have a special needs son. He gets his blood drawn here at our house. I asked the guy who comes out and draws the blood if he got Covid vaccine. He said no, he says d he sees households where one spouse has Covid with symptoms and the other spouse tests negative. He doesn’t understand how this is possible. He is a young black guy so probably not a Trump supporter or right winger. He also said he has drawn blood for terminally ill people who test positive for Covid but show no ill effects.

I am fine with vaccinations, my son is autistic and I still believe in them and I don’t believe Vaccines cause autism. But I am not getting vaccinated for Covid and my wife and boys aren’t either. I don’t like how quick these vaccines were developed. I don’t understand the way Covid behaves or whether humans develop natural antibodies. I don’t buy a new model of car the 1st year it comes out. Why would I immediately jump out to get a brand new vaccine?

Most of all I don’t trust my government to be honest with me. The same government that lies to impeach a President or let’s an election get stolen does not have my trust.

I am fine if someone else gets vaccinated. Your body, your choice. But I don’t want to be forced into vaccination.

Don’t you also live in a rural area? I’d be curious to see how you dare after a trip to Mardi Gras or a weeks ride on the L

This. There are only so many times the government can cry wolf on this one. Unfortunately, I WILL have to get the Wuflu shot eventually, only because I'm sure my employer will mandate it.
