It’s been announced today that CSU and Coach Irvin have parted ways. Honestly, not real shocked to hear the news. Seems like there’s been a disconnect between Irvin and Charles for some time. Granted it’s very late in the year, so it’s looking to be another rough one for Chicago State. Nonetheless, I think it’s for the best moving forward and it allows Elliott Charles to again bring in his own people.

Lance Irvin finishes without a WAC win. I always liked Tracy Dildy. He did fairly well before AD/HC doubleduty, going 8-8 one year.

Completely agree with you on Dildy. I really liked him as well. And like you said, when he had an actual competitive budget he was able to have a pretty nice season in the WAC.

We’ll see how things move forward from here but I think Elliott Charles will bring in a solid hire. Someone who is up for, and able to meet, the challenge. I’ve liked his hires thus far.. but we’ll see how things pan out.

Even lower-level ability players can be required to play disciplined basketball, if the coach will just do it. Take good shots. Don't turn over the ball. Intense defense. It ain't brain surgery.
