Nobody complains about winning ball games. Only about the defense having to pitch a perfect game because the offense no-shows second halves.

I think that maybe by design in many cases. We sit on 2nd half leads, burning clock and relying on the defense.

And Bama showed us in the 1972 Iron Bowl game how that strategy might not work out so well. A good history student learns from the mistakes of others so he can avoid them himself.

Remind me again why anyone on this site - other than you - should give a rip about what happened in the Iron Bowl?

In 1972 at that. I can only assume that was the punt bama punt game, but don’t care enough to be bothered to look it up. I love getting my bama history lessons on a site for UAB fans.

One of the things BBF is consistent at is not giving a rip about what BlazerTalk thinks about his Bama Role Tyde posts on this board.

YES! I am BAMANBLAZERFAN and I am proud to support the teams of BOTH schools from which I have earned degrees - BA from Bama in 1963 and MA from UAB in 1972. For those not given to knee-jerk responses, my history lesson from 1972 was an historical illustration of the concerns expressed in the two posts just above my post. It was hardly a "Roll Tide" entry since Bama LOST that game by doing what WesternBlazer and BlazenB'ham worried about. Coach Bryant tried to "sit" on a 13-3 lead in the 4th quarter but fate - and Auburn - had other plans. The 17-16 finish still stings for Bama fans but cheers Auburn fans.

BTW, The 1972 Auburn radio call was done by Gary Sanders who did several years of broadcasting for UAB.

BNB’s favorite attribute of mine is that he never wastes a chance to make his point in at least one, extra-long, run on paragraph, when he could just condense what he has to say into a sentence or two. Brevity and conciseness are not his friends. And he ALWAYS has to throw in a bama reference. The fact that he keeps doing both things after tons of posters have complained about it just makes it even better..

Wow. Even is a crazy number. Elsewhere, I see:

Marshall +250
UAB +275
UTSA +300

I’m wondering if his odds are for winning the division.

He didn't heed your advice unfortunately..

Had the two of you been writing in 1776, you might have been critical of Thomas Jefferson's writing in the Declaration of Independence since his opening sentence is his opening paragraph. You seem to say that form is more important than substance so we might still be British today.(LOL)

It is possible to improve one’s form without negatively affecting the substance. improving one’s form makes it more likely people will read it which makes your writing more impactful.

He is, and if you look at when he joined this board you'll see that he has been for a long time. I suspect that he's one of the oldest posters on Blazertalk. He went to Bama and lived here while Bear was coaching. Think about how much we like Bill Clark and multiply by most of the state.

Yeah, his schtick gets old, and yes, he knows damn well the things that you guys are gonna gripe about. He spins your crank and then y'all start b******g. If it really bothers you, use the button. That's why it's there. If you're not going to do that, deal with it.

I say this because I've read this conversation about a hundred times now, and it gets as old as his 'Bama references... so I guess I'm doing what y'all are, only about you. I'll take my own advice and deal.
