16 years at OU and not one single MAC title. Hard to fathom. Class act guy throughout his entire tenure, no doubt. His teams were always tough and well coached.

That sounds like your talking about Tod Kowalczyk.

Wrong. He has 19 years with no NCAA.

Other than a 3 year difference, they are very similar. Good coaches and good people who have won a lot of games, but haven't been able to get over the hump.

A Solich team was in the National Championship Game.
His teams were ranked in the top 10 three times. Not that similar. If anything it points out how special a MACC is.

Ok, I'll clarify what I meant. Their tenures in the MAC are very similar.

RE: Solich Retires
Solich pioneered the "Coach getting shitcanned based on unrealistic fan expectations" saga. He had a better first 5 years at Nebraska than either of the HOF coaches who were his immediate predecessors in a harder conference (the Big 12 of the 00's was arguably the best conference in College Football and FAR better than the Big 8 conference that Nebraska was in under the previous regimes), yet was dumped as unceremoniously from his alma mater as a celebrity with a bad tweet history. I found it especially sweet karmic retribution that the coach hired to replace him couldn't lose fewer games in a season than Solich did in the year he was fired and the Huskers haven't truly been nationally relevant since.

Karma has certainly been a "B" for Husker FB.

Btw, many Bobcat fans want to put Frank's name on the stadium/fb field.
