I have no doubt the new convocation center will be VERY nice.

If you click on the link I provided above, you can see the live cam for the renovated Moody. The floor is about done with painting and looks good. It is simple, but nice. The suites and offices are coming together, and the seating is in place. I wish we had more pics of the various rooms, lockers, suites, offices, etc.. but not yet. Staff should begin moving in in a few weeks I hope.

The Moody basketball goals are out. I think we are still a few weeks away from staff being able to utilize the space, let alone the teams. Official opening is still slated for August if I remember correctly. We are actually opening it up with a Volleyball game against DBU on 8/20.

It will be interesting to see what the jump in attendance the Moody arena will be once it is reopened, and we are another year removed from the initial impact of COVID. ACU averaged 1,259-attendance in 2019 before COVID. Will ACU average substantially more now in the enhanced Moody Arena?

I hope so, but wouldn't hold my breath. We should come close, or slightly better, after two really good seasons. Over-all though we are still ACU and not seen as a program that the community will rally behind in any sport. Most of our alum live out of town, so weekday eve games makes attendance worse. I was really happy to see us consistently almost fill Teague, but that was only around 800. There will be a little excitement with the newly renovated Moody, but even the excitement of the new stadium wore off quickly. Again, winners bring better crowds, so if we continue to improve then we may actually average better than 1200-1300. I would really like us to average in the 1500-2000 range. That is actually doable, but wouldn't be easy unless we can break the curse of The Hill...

Hopefully, the end product looks smooth, but I suspect leaving the SBC logo on would have been bad.
