As fans of SHSU or otherwise, what game(s) do you feel will be the most challenging? Is there a game you are most looking forward to or think will be the least appealing on the slate?

I think only scheduling 10 games after a long and grueling spring season was pure genius.

I’m glad ACU is your final game. I’m hopeful by the 10th game the fatigue from two seasons in one year will have set in, giving the Cats a chance for an upset.

Agreed!

I like that there's a bit of a gap between the first and second game with that Northern Arizona game being contested on a Thursday. Gives another 48 hours to the recovery time and coaches to assess what they need to change in adjustment for their student-athletes based on what they saw in a real game situation.

And then you get the BYE after the SEMO game heading into Central Arkansas and then a BYE heading into Jacksonville State. Yes, byes heading into what are probably the most challenging games on the slate this year.

This schedule could not of played out better for the Kats in all reality.

And is it good for Abilene to be the last regular season game? There could be a lot on the line - AQ, playoff seeding, etc. - if everything goes according to plan. While fatigue will be in place, winning to avoid a game the next week is a pretty big motivational factor for a university that is undefeated at home in the playoffs!

Central Arkansas is absolutely the toughest opponent we’ll face, with Jacksonville State and SE Missouri State being a distant second and third. UCA has always given the Bearkats issues, especially in Conway where the Kats are 2-5 all time. With this being the final meeting between the two for a while, I’d expect this to be a game both schools are particularly motivated to win, as the series has been neck and neck over the past decade plus.

UCA returns Breylin Smith, one of the best dual threat QBs in the FCS, as well as a strong and versatile WR core. SHSU can be susceptible to the passing game, so we’ll see if UCA is able to take advantage. And they’re about the only team that matches up fairly well with SHSU talent wise on the schedule. I’m really looking forward to that game as it’ll be a Top 10 (maybe Top 5) matchup.
