Well actually, they made it to the championship game of the playoffs and lost I think 7-4. Looks to be another good year for them methinks.

You're right, Wiz, I just had remembered it wrong. They did make it to the finals but that's where it ended....my bad!! Hopefully, they will take it one step further this season.

The Texas League has split seasons. Your team does well in the first half, then the parent club strips the cupboards bare later in the summer, and they tank, but still get in playoffs.
Our Ark. Travellers are Anaheim Angels AA farmclub now; but for 32 years we were StL. Cards AA. Which worked great because every redblooded Arkansan is a Cards fan. We hated to lose them, but a pi$$ing contest developed between the Cards mgmt. and our local idiot owner-***-disgruntled-ex-major-league-umpire, over several issues, and St.L. pulled theplug and went to NewHaven, I think.
All of which pales when you consider that Nolan Ryan stole the Jxn team and moved it away, or something like that!!

At least our Redbirds are affiliated with the Cardinals!

No doubt... The Cards had a good thing going with AAA Memphis and AA Little Rock. Lighter than average travel costs. Now they have to commute between New Haven, Mem and Stl.
I was really shocked when they deep-sixed LR. Lots of local politics as well as static from the Cards front office. The fans lose, of course.
