This should be an interesting game. We are coming off a decent season and hoping we can keep the momentum going. We played UT well for the first part of the game, but quickly wore down. I wanna see how we react to that.

Interesting indeed, but I wanted better offense. We played on the ropes most of the game against NMSU.

NMSU won! That has not happened a lot in recent years. Not sure what happened, the keeper looked to have misplayed it a little, the the other forward does what she should have done, follow the shot, and take advantage.

Congratulations. I didn’t see that happening.

Want to make sure Dixie State gets credit for their goal in the 88th minute to secure a road win at UNLV!

GCU takes down Southeastern Louisiana 3-0 on Thursday[/u]. Southeastern won the Southland conference last year so I assume they are no push over. We shall see.
So far so good.

SLU won the league tournament; believe they were 5th in the final standings. Won opening game on PKs and ended up in tourney final against seventh seed Sam Houston.

UTRGV lost to South Dakota State, 1-3.

They were 12-0-5 last season, so maybe not unexpected.

RE: WAC Womens Soccer 2021 Season Thread
Through August 23, the Western Athletic Conference (not including the non-conference match between ACU & NMSU) is 8-9 out of conference with one P5 victory (Utah Valley over Arizona) to the league's credit.

Not a bad opening weekend.

Wins - 8

Arizona (UVU)
Central Arkansas (GCU)
Grambling (Lamar)
Northern Arizona (UVU)
Portland State (Seattle)
Southeastern La. (GCU)
UNLV (Dixie State)
UTEP (ACU)

Losses - 9

LSU (Sam Houston)
New Mexico (Dixie St)
Oklahoma (Lamar)
Oregon State (Seattle)
Rice (Sam Houston, Stephen F Austin)
South Dakota State (UTRGV)
TCU (Stephen F Austin)
UC-Riverside (Cal Bapt)

As we go into week two - games of interest include in-state battle between Abilene Christian (1-1) @ Texas Tech, UTRGV (0-1) @ TCU, Utah Valley (2-0) @ Weber State plus WAC games against the Southland (hey - the Texas schools are at least interested!), GCU (2-0) at UIW, UTRGV (0-1) at TAMU-CC, Cal Baptist (0-1) @ UIW, Sam Houston (0-2) at McNeese
