I wonder how often M-F 9-5 during fall/spring terms when classes are in session were garages at 100% capacity? I have no idea

When I was in school, class of '13, the east lot was never full, no matter the hour. I would always go straight to the top of the garage and quickly park so I could start walking.

The west garage, however, was usually full from like....10am-2pm?

Most people coming from NW, W and SW? Maybe the U will be best to just turn the East spot into greenspace as originally suggested by BCMan?

Guessing lot 10 provides option to students entering into east side of campus, surface lot of that size is not on west side-hence heavier use of west parking garage????

My sense (20+ years parking in or near lot 10 year round) is that is location on main campus where parking really becomes as issue as closest to large academic classroom buildings in center of campus around the mall PLUS staff and faculty offices in UH, HHS, SM, FH, GH, SU etc...... Pretty dense grouping of "destinations" for students, staff and faculty especially 930a-200p period M-F when classes in session. And this fall without east garage this is where the pressure, anger and complaining will be focused, for any one trying to find a spot mid day Mon to Thursday during term. And Tues Nov 2nd home game going to be disaster for parking on that park of campus, with lot 10 closed all day
