RE: 2022 Uniforms
I watched State/ECU earlier and was struck during the MTSU game at how much better JMU's uniforms are compared to ECU with a similar color scheme.

It's not this good, but you work with the colors you have.

My gawd…glad you brought this up. My impression of that powder-blue uniform for ODU was that it made the team look like a bunch of fancy pansies. Whose mother (or was it a little sister?) picked out that color for ODU’s uniforms? It’s such a “precious” look. 03-yawn

The gold/yellow/mustard/cheese color for ECU is horrendous. Those pants yesterday were awful.

JMU focusing on purple/white with gold (true gold) trim is beautiful.

So clean. Look sharp, play sharp. The gold nameplate is a nice touch for a bit of pop.

The helmets are fine - but you guys sure you wanna try to rebrand Carolina Blue as "Hudson" blue? All that does is remind of that time that you guys QUIT BEFORE THE 4TH QUARTER.

That Powder Blue used to be ODU's primary color. Then they started using the darker blue. I am glad to see them return to the Powder Blue. Now, put a Silver helmet with it and match the silver numbers in the jerseys for a sharp looking uni.

University of Texas - Rio Grande Valley just started up a football team and these are their helmets. Very solid and clean.

I know Cignetti is very much in the you do what Alabama, Auburn, Georgia do in terms of primarily two uniform options. I’ve been pleasantly surprised that he budgets on HoCo and Senior Day.

It would be nice to dabble with the helmet decals those days and leave it as the standard JMU block for the other 10. I know we did those throwback ones each week to commemorate the decades but I’d love to see something fresh and new on those special days. I’d love if they designed a “retro” Duke Dog in the style that the other schools use despite us never actually using such design in the past and use it for the HoCo helmets. Or reimagine the “Dukes” script in the style of UGTRV’s.

Agree to disagree, those look terrible imo.

I'm pretty sure the inside of their pants say "UNC is daddy" stiched into it as some sort of agreement for quitting the game early. "We'll let you quit 5 mins early but you have to wear our colors and have to call us daddy from here on out"

UTRGV doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. They need to work on branding.

Agree that they look terrible. To each their own.

Personally, I think HCCC has the correct approach to JMU uniforms. There’s little need to “dabble” with near perfection. 04-cheers

I believe our colors are more in line with the Washington Huskies. The ECU gold is very yellow in appearance.

Yeah any purple and gold is good, but ours is much better than ECU's due to the gold.

True. But they have gold pants. Bring back the gold pants, even if just 1 retro game a year..

I do like the Huskies gold pants but only at home wearing the purple jersey. Gold pants with white jerseys do not pop.

If I ruled the world, the six home games would always wear purple jerseys and rotate two pants, purple one game, gold the next. Away games with white jerseys, rotate between purple pants and white pants.

We always get on this subject about this time of year. 03-lmfao I'm ready for some football.

Agreed. I think the bring back the gold panta has been going on here about the last 15+ years..

Agreed on your home unis purple or gold pants, purple jersey could become 6 home uni combos if you rotated pueple, gold amd white helmets (which would include an all purple). Make it 8 if you had an all white for a whiteout game, and all black for a blackout game, to appease the younger folks. Would leave maybe 1-2 combos not used depending on post season.

Agreed on your away uni of purple or white pants with white jerseys. Make that 6 combos if you rotated among purple, gold & white helmets.
