Wilcher Steps Down
Thomas Wilcher has stepped down as HC at Cass Tech.
He has accepted an analyst's position at Michigan State.

Thanks Boca...... it will be interesting to see if Cass Tech continues to get great players or the attracted talent disperses to King and the power Catholic schools. I wonder if a disciple of Witcher will be new HC to continue momentum. Every year they send 6 or more players to D1 schools. We have a few. Could be new pipeline for Sparty

Go Rockets!

Looks like MSU is following what Michigan did with pulling Bellamy away from Bloomfield this offseason. Get a highly reputable coach in the major urban center on your staff anywhere and hope those connections come through with in-state recruiting. Would be interesting if we ever looked at something like that.

Coaches Weiner and Kehres have to help with their connections and reputations.

I think they’re working it judging by Fl commitments. Hopefully.

Oh for sure...I think having Kehres is going to be a boon for recruiting in Northern Ohio. A lot of varsity coaches love the D2/D3 coaches who give their hard workers who maybe aren't up to snuff at D1 opportunities to continue playing...that endearment will definitely help when you start working with those D1 caliber athletes at some high schools now.

So does winning DIII national championships, ask Buffalo. Winners are the key.

Will be interesting to see how we fair with the new staff at Cass Tech. Over the years we have done very well with their guys. Were some of our leaders as they grew and matured as Rockets.

RE: Wilcher Steps Down
Sparty hires a Wolverine. I wonder if the murder of one of his assistance had any play in his decision to leave? Very difficult time for the Cass community.

An interesting consequence for Mich St is that they cannot recruit Cass Tech for a year or maybe two (I'm not sure which) because of contact. That might make Toledo a bit more attractive to a Cass Tech player.
