That said, London and Taylor are following a ton of transfers, so we’ll see soon enough.

Ding Ding Ding!

Well, I guess we also now know who the other mystery visitor was on the 2/5 official visit weekend.

Tyler Oedekoven 6'0 185lbs
High academic with 2 years eligibility left. Team captain at Albany. Seeking his MBA, so the attraction to W&M makes sense. Seems like a great addition that fits the culture here.
He is also an active Podcaster (The TO Show), so it will be interesting following that end of things.

Looking at his highlights, he runs good routes and seems skilled at snagging contested balls in traffic. Burner as well. Reportedly ran a 4.5 coming out of HS.

From Albany's message board regarding Oedekoven:

Oedekoven, who’s on course to receive his bachelor’s degree in business administration this spring, said he wants to study business analytics in graduate school. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

“Albany has an information systems program, which is more of the IT direction,” said Oedekoven, who aspires to become a CEO. “But I wanted more of the business side of analytics, rather than the IT side. It was all academic reasons why I wanted to leave, for the most part. “

Never understood this decision. Had a pretty big role. Got hurt. Physically not ready to play when he came back so didn’t. Decides to leave. I know William and Mary isn’t right for everyone but he had a lot to offer and is a smart kid.

Yates transferred to Yale. Fine school but not $40k/yr better.

I wish all those who transferred out only the best. It’s not my money and it’s not my dream.

Some transfer out and some transfer in. Some graduate in 3 yrs and leave and some earn a BS and law degree at W&M.

The transfer portal, covid year, and youth ego makes for weird decisions.

Last year 40% of fbs transfers didn’t find a scholarship home. I’m betting that number is higher this year. You can add awful adult advice to your list of reasons for weird decisions.
