those net worth lists are pretty worthless. They are WAGs in many cases based on very little info unless your information is all pubic. Penny's info is based what Nike pays him and little Tiger check thrown in and accounts for the salary he earned playing.

My net worth on a good day is around a million but I live in part of that and most of the rest is retirement. If you count my pension value to yield in the formula it would be double that. I'm worth a lot more to my wife if I die before I retire but I don't tell her that. I live on my salary which doesn't reflect a millionaire lifestyle.

These things are always guesses. Penny invested well and listened to advice along the way. He still gets Nike checks but is also part owner (silent partner) of more businesses than most will know about.
