Big Weekend!
Let's see if the Chippewas can build on this great 2022 recruiting class. I'm told around six scholarships remaining.

Rockford (Mich.) High School DE Kade Kostus (6-3, 250), who took an official visit to Central Michigan on June 4-6, is scheduled to announce his college choice on his birthday, June 29. He's expected to decide between Boston College, CMU and Western Michigan.

FIRE UP CHIPS! :)

No question, Fanatic, the Rockford pipeline has been very productive for CMU.

RE: Big Weekend!
Kostus tweeted that he will commit tomorrow at 6pm. Stay tuned.

This does not imply that he is committing to CMU just that he will announce his choice then.

RE: Big Weekend!
Maybe its just me, but it seems like this year is the earliest I've remembered of us getting almost all of our scholarships handed out to players who have committed. End of June seems early to have a class almost full, although I understand its a bit smaller class than what we would normally have if there were 16 total scholarships available at the beginning. I have no insider knowledge however it seems like a ton of offers were extended. I think that a possible reason for early verbal commitments is that with a limited number of scholarships there is a sense of - when the scholarships are gone, they're gone... creating a fear of loss. Like if you don't commit soon the spot may disappear while you're waiting for something better to come along.

I think this is especially true for the lightly recruited players and those who only hold the lower division offers.

RE: Big Weekend!
I can't help but think that COVID has also played a part in the fact that no one has truly been able to recruit people in-person for over a year. But I have to imagine the staff is likely pushing for players to offer their commitment, because you're right, we typically do not have this many people committed.
