Wonder how much that changes when we just consider current conference.

RE: Conference Opponent Won-Loss Records
Adjusted for current conference:

Tulane 3-0
ECU 6-1
Tulsa 3-1
Navy 1-1
Houston 4-2
USF 4-3
Temple 3-4
Memphis 2-5

We did not play SMU or UCF prior to the AAC.

Memphis has been the biggest thorn in our side in this conference. Temple also has been very tough against us. We’ve done a good job catching up to ECU, Tulsa and Tulane who grabbed a lot of their all-time victories against us in another era. Even going back to the CUSA days, ECU has only one won against us since 2001 (2017). Nearly all their wins against us came in the 80s and early to mid 90s.

I would really like to see our series vs. Stumps and Haskell Indian Nations resume. It’s been too long and I am tired of all the swollen egos of their fans…

I fear Carlisle as the Ghost of Jim Thorpe could appear.

RE: Conference Opponent Won-Loss Records
It's interesting to discuss but you can't really gauge anything from all time records because UC has been at both ends of the football hierarchy.

When I was in school we used to regularly get our a$$es handed to us by ECU, Tulane and the MAC. I remember going to a game where we lost 38-0 to BG and also the hoosier dome the disaster against Indiana St.

Now we're top 10 material playing on the level with the likes of Georgia.

Umm... I think I prefer the current state of the program, personally.

You forgot Ohio Wesleyan among others from the 1890's and early 1900's smart guy. What does this have to do with the OP? The teams that we play now have a historical wins edge against us. It was an observation. I was thinking that we had done better against the teams in our conference overall until I looked at the numbers. I'm not losing any sleep over this but our conference mates will throw the all-time records at us when we start beating our chests. We are starting to assert ourselves but it's all about sustaining a winning culture over time.

It is what it is unfortunately. As I mentioned above, teams like ECU and Tulane owned us in the dark ages of UC football (the 1980s and 1990s. Houston and Tulsa had success against UC in the MVC days of the late 1950s and early 1960s. Truth be told, although had been playing football since 1885, they did not start throwing money at the sport and commit to winning at a high level until the late 1990s and early 2000s. This is why we are playing in the AAC and not in a P5 conference. UC just came to the sport a little too late in the game.

Good point. That reminds me when I was a frosh in 1986/87 at UC and the football program was an afterthought compared to hoops. Although at that time, hoops games were being played down at Riverfront Coliseum. It's still unreal to me that we've ended up where we are today in terms of football brand and facilities. It didn't get us in a P5 but we're in the next best alternative currently.

Bearcats are 14-7-2 against Wichita State in football. Last game was 1986 when the Shockers dropped their program. Shockers have 13,000 undergrads. UC joined MVC in 1957 which was by far the worst conference the Bearcats have ever joined because of road trips to racist Houston and North Texas. The Big O almost quit the Bearcats over his first trip to the Houston Cougars.

Houston started integrated just a couple years after Oscar. Here’s an interesting read.
