Saw Coach Bozeman today
At the Jack. Asked him if UAPB was playing LR this season. He said no but he is playing a lot of high majors including Texas.
Be nice if Beard would play us also.

RE: Saw Coach Bozeman today
Supposedly Coach Beard had agreed to bring Texas Tech here as a "thank you" for getting his DI career started. May not have the same freedom to do this after moving to U of Texas. Porter apparently hasn't returned calls about playing here.

Last I checked Solo had signed 4 players at UAPB, including the WKU transfer (originally from Conway) I thought we might be interested in. He has definitely hit the ground running. It is somewhat hard to measure "success" at UAPB since they typically start the season with 10-12 tough road games. I guess their conference record is all you can really look at, unless they actually pull out an OOC upset or two. But, if he is successful at UAPB, I could see LR being his next stop.

Don’t see any coach being successful at UAPB unless they change their sacrificing basketball success for paying for the football program.

That was my point about how do you measure "success". I doubt a coach at UAPB will ever have an overall winning record. But if they can win the SWAC, and go to the NCAA tournament a couple of times, I think most would consider that success.

Absolutely. I figure Solo will do well. He has the genes and the experience.
