It shouldn't be understated what the NC State baseball team has accomplished in the postseason.
* First time Vanderbilt has lost in this NCAA tournament.
* First time the Commodores have been shut out this season.
* First team to beat both the No. 1 national seed (Arkansas) and the defending national champion (Vanderbilt) in a single NCAA Tournament since seeding began in 1999.

The Freshmen were too young to realize that in the last two innings we suddenly needed to throw 4-6 strikes in order to put down a Vandy batter. Avent held his temper though he probably broke a bridge in his mouth.

Nice work. Now ... you still have to beat them again. So don't get all cocky.

I was unaware that I was crowing. I expect to lose the game on questionable umpiring on Friday. Saturday who knows?

I did not expect the Vandy coach to force the testing of ALL our team for Covid in an effort to get enough out so that we could not play. That's a new one - worthy of the Tar Heels or the Blue Devils.
