Exclamation ACCN Classic Games (Summer of 2021)
There comes a point every Summer when the best thing the sports networks can show is classic games.

Right now (2:30 PM on Sunday 6/20), the ACCN is showing the 1982 Sugar Bowl between Dan Marino's Pitt Panthers and Hershel Walker's Georgia Bulldogs.

If you know how these things work, you can guess which team won that game.

I've just watched one series in which
1st dn: Bill Maas stuffed Hershel Walker at the LOS
2nd dn: GA FB gained 6
3rd dn: Pitt intercepted GA pass

Poor Dan Marino, he's got Jimbo Covert at one OT and Bill Fralic playing the other OT. Every time he drops back he has time to do a TV commercial before throwing... but nobody can get open against that Bulldog coverage (yet).

I was wondering if the ACCN was featuring a team a day again like they did last summer. There are classic Pitt games on all day.

They must be doing teams in alphabetical order, but not necessarily one day per school. UNC and NC State were a couple of days ago, Syracuse on Monday and Tuesday, Virginia on Wednesday and Thursday, and Virginia Tech on Friday.

I know that this is lost on a Hokie, but NCSt and UVa have squashed two SEC teams in the College World Series. That's that baseball thing that goes on post season for a National Championship

I know this is lost on a Wahoo, but this thread is about college football on the ACC Network. That's the sport that pays for nearly all other sports - including baseball.

BTW, Congratulations to the NC State Wolfpack for their glorious victory over the Stanford Cardinal in the first game of the 2021 College World Series.

Also, too bad for Tennessee on their loss in the third game of the CWS.

And Saturday. I looked ahead in the listing and apparently everyone's getting 2 days this summer.

I've watched every game of the WCWS and CWS and the super regionals that involved ACC teams or JMU and a few others. I generally root for all ACC teams in the playoffs but you sure make it hard to root for UVA.
