We should be able to run at will against LIU. If we can avoid turnovers this one will be over early and we can give the starters the 4th quarter off. With a true freshman at backup QB it’d be nice to get him some more reps.

I don't know if you guys know this or not but Trent Green had a 15 year NFL career.

Ok maybe no more Cephas, Schlee, and Cooper. With the score and how they just slammed Cephas after the play i wouldn't be taking chances.

Started out slow, gave up too much in the air, but eventually settled down and we got what was expected. I was hoping Cooper and Garcia would’ve hit 100 on the day. Garcia’s first carry was a really nice one, he got out and picked up a nice block downfield before stepping out of bounds or else it would’ve been a 44 yard TD. Then he came right back and blocked a punt.

RE: 2022 Football Week 3 vs LIU
This was the most fun lopsided game I've seen. Great adjustments on defense after the first quarter. Saw some fakes from Schlee that looked a lot like Crumb. He must have learned a thing or two. Cooper and Garcia are becoming my favorite offensive players I've seen from us.
I was astounded by the crowd turnout. People couldn't find seats, lines at concession stands. Especially with big events in Ravenna and Cuyahoga Falls. The beach theme seemed to work well. I'm interested to see what they do in the future. I wish we could do more coordinated cheers. Hopefully that will come with winning and more fans.
I'm watching Toledo and OSU. I'm not looking forward to playing Toledo. Hopefully we can learn more tricks at Georgia next week.

Thinking out loud here. What do you guys think Garcia's role will be the rest of the way? I think we'd all agree, the dude looks special. I'm kinda hoping Williams is back before game 5 and we'll stop playing Garcia to preserve his redshirt. Would kinda hate to burn a year of eligibility for a talented true freshman when we have such a well established and deep backfield.

He’ll bide his time and wait for his chance for a more prominent role. Would be nice to get that redshirt year as kids are always more valuable their 5th year than their first, but the coaches like him enough they don’t want to not have him out there. He’s contributing in other ways too, special teams like that blocked punt that was returned for a TD.

In high school he ended up 10th all time in Pennsylvania rushing with 7217 yards, and 2nd in TDs (143) despite only getting mop-up duty his first two years as he watched his older brother rush for 8246 yards and 138 rushing TDs as well as other teammate WR Julian Fleming (Ohio State) obliterating the PA state receiving records (5481 yards 78 TDs). Between the mercy rule/running clock, missing 4 games to Covid, and only play 1/2 games due to the frequent blowouts, those numbers are staggering.

I was talking with a random person at the tailgate, so not sure if he actually knows anything. He told me Lewis' kid started at Kent? Is that true? Is he playing? If so I totally missed it. He thinks Lewis would stay if he has a good season because his son started here. Thanks.

The current transfer rules put a coach between a rock and a hard place. If a talented young layer hasn't used his one "free" transfer yet, you have to find a way to keep him happy, and that may include playing someone a lot when a redshirt may be better for both that player and the team.

He is 37 years old. His 2 kids are younggggg, guessing 5 and 2.

Yeah I've seen him out and about. Kids way too young for football if that's what you're asking. I always get a chuckle out of people that say a coach or players kids started school so no way they're leaving now (pro or college). It's not like you can hold your kids out of school to wait for your dream job.

I will add, I think Lewis is happy here and isn't trying to jump asap. I'd bet he's waiting for the right offer not the first offer.

$$$$ and security count and he will jump at the right offer.
Kids especially coaches kids with great parents do fine.

For example DeAndre Haynes has 3 boys.
They have moved Toledo, Michigan, Maryland , Marquette. Great parents
All seem to be doing really well.

He has all the tools to succeed and continue to climb the ladder, young, smart, energetic and charismatic, if PJ Fleck could cash in rowing boats then so can Coach Lewis. A few years ago I wouldn’t have guessed he’d still be here in 2022, but I believe bad timing and poor defense have slowed his ascent. That he came into this program and turned the culture around is not to be overlooked. Take out the bodybag games and we’re competitive against our peers. I know he just signed an extension, but I don’t see him here too long.

Agree. Lewis will jump at the right offer, but he'd be wise to be careful. There are a lot of P5 schools that are so far below the elite P5 programs that it would be difficult to do much with.
