Future football schedules
https://fbschedules.com/ncaa-2022/team/kent-state

Did a quick look forward at the next few seasons and it seems we have a few openings. Has anyone heard what type of schedule our new AD is going to put together?

2022 - Washington, Oklahoma and Georgia
2023 - Arkansas
2024 - Penn St

$$$$$ must come from somewhere.
Unless New AD has a new source to fund
his Dept, they must continue with high profile
schedule.
Anyone know anyone with $50-$100 million to prop
up athletic dept?? WMU just got huge donation , that
amount going towards Athletics . Total donation largest ever to a
Public University. Anonymous Donors!!

RE: Future football schedules
I get we need to generate revenue. Why are we the unique ones scheduling three of these?

That what I always wondered when comparing what we do to our peers in the MAC.

Its all about giving.

Compare KSU overall endowment to schools like BG, OU, Miami
Toledo, WMU , CMU.

Other schools have many very wealthy successful
alumni that give back in the millions.
Kent only a few and they keep going back to the same donors
Instead of finding new sources.
Kent has a high % of first in the family college grads , which is great but not a lot of “old” money.

Other than our golfers not many of our athletes or
TV/Movie folks seem to give back big bucks.

From personal experience KSU not really good at closing the deal, especially Athletic Dept.

Nurturing donors must improve to get them to write checks.

I know there is money in naming rights, but (and once again I am showing my age) I hate it. I refuse to call the stadium in Canton anything but Fawcett Stadium. In fact, I don't even remember what it is called now.

I have no reason to defend Richmond but if we're trying to be objective it's hard to expect him to have changed this by now (assuming he wants to). He inherited an Athletic Department that was depending on 3 money games for a big part of the budget a few months after they underwent a season where they got 0 money games due to COVID.

I've always been in the camp that 2 money games at most us enough and the third should be replaced by someone close to our level so we have a barometer of where we're at before the games really matter. Hopefully someday we'll get there. Until then, let's get home healthy and cash that check tomorrow.

anti-zip, fortunately we don't have to worry about that Georgia check bouncing. Athletic Departments like Georgia's have more money than several small countries.

Cox might be a little out of our league but we could probably get STD transport to sponsor the field. STD field at Six stadium
