Schools win all 6 NY6
Which schools have won all NY6 bowls? Obviously they're PAC or B1G schools.

Not necessarily. There were a few years that the Rose Bowl hosted the BCS National Championship game, a few years in the BCS double hosting model when the Big Ten/Pac 10 or 12 champ played in the national championship and was replaced by a non Big Ten/Pac 10 or 12 team (TCU was one team) and a few years when the Rose Bowl was a Playoff semifinal.

I won't look up every team but non Big Ten/Pac 12 teams that won the Rose Bowl since 2000:

Miami (2002)
Oklahoma (2003)
Texas (2005 and 2006)
TCU (2011)
Georgia (2018)
Alabama (2021)

Penn State has won all but the Peach. They won the Sugar (1983), Fiesta (1987, 1997, and 2017), Rose (1995), Orange (2006), and Cotton (2019)

RE: Schools win all 6 NY6
Oklahoma has won 5 of the 6. Oklahoma has only been to the Peach Bowl once: the loss to LSU in 2019. Most recent wins in the other NY6 bowls:

Cotton: 2020
Sugar: 2016
Fiesta: 2010
Rose: 2003
Orange: 2000

Bob Stoops won each of these bowls at least once.

RE: Schools win all 6 NY6
The Peach Bowl is going to be a bit of a limiting factor here:

-----------

(1) Only one current Pac-12 school has ever won a Peach Bowl (Arizona State). They have Fiesta and Rose Bowl wins too but they've never even played in a Cotton, Sugar or Orange Bowl, much less won one.

(2) Meanwhile, only 2 current B1G schools have ever won a Peach Bowl. Purdue and Iowa, both won the Peach was a lesser-prestige Bowl than it is today. Neither of those schools have won more than 2 of the other 5 Bowl games.

-----------

Then, the Rose Bowl is a limiting factor:

(1) Non-current B1G and Pac-12 teams to win a Rose Bowl are Alabama, Pittsburgh, Texas, Georgia, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Columbia, Georgia Tech, Harvard, Miami FLA and TCU.

(2) Alabama has won all of the other Bowl games, except a Fiesta Bowl. They HAVE played in a Fiesta Bowl, only once, but they lost to Louisville (!).

(3) Pittsburgh has Sugar and Fiesta Bowl wins, but not the other 3.

(4) Texas, Notre Dame and Oklahoma have all won all of the other Bowl games, except the Peach Bowl. Oklahoma has been to a Peach Bowl; the other 2 have not.

(5) Georgia has won a Sugar, Cotton, Peach and Orange Bowl, but hasn't even played in a Fiesta Bowl.

(6) Georgia Tech has Sugar and Orange Bowl wins, but not the other 3 (including their hometown Peach Bowl).

(7) Miami FLA has won all of the other 5 except the Fiesta Bowl, in which they have appeared four times but lost ALL four times.

(8) TCU has Sugar, Peach and Cotton Bowl wins, and they've appeared in one Orange and Fiesta Bowl too. But they lost each of the latter two.

(9) Columbia & Harvard - their Rose Bowl win is literally their only Bowl game ever.

------------

Net: if my research is correct, no school has won all 6 of them. But a few schools have won 5 (including Penn State, which I didn't list but someone above has).

Thanks everyone! I remembered schools like UT winning the Rose in the BCS era. I'm surprised the Peach and ESPECIALLY Fiesta are the limiting bowls.

Navy, ND, Alabama, Georgia Tech, Pitt, Georgia, TCU, and Miami have won the Rose Bowl

Functionally, the Peach Bowl took the Gator Bowl's place.

I just realized ... Alabama has won all of the 6 Bowls except a Fiesta Bowl, but one of their National Championship game victories (2015) was in the same Glendale, AZ stadium where the Fiesta Bowl is played.

That title game isn't the "Fiesta Bowl" in name, of course.

Florida State is in a similar place, except their "not a named bowl" is the Rose Bowl, but they won their last NC at THE Rose Bowl.

I would count that as a win in an NY6 bowl game. With no semifinal round, it was hosted by the Tournament of Roses committee and the Rose Bowl, and the name was certainly featured in the advertising.

But I wouldn't count their Peach Bowl win in 1983 as an NY6 win, as that was before the Peach became part of the NY6 (it was a late December game). So they are still one short of the NY6 Slam.

The Peach Bowl was never a major bowl before the NY6.

The Big 4

Rose (Big 10/Pac 12)
Sugar (SEC)
Orange (Big 8)
Cotton (SWC)

Then the Fiesta was able to get upgraded.

The ACC never had a perm Bowl Championship Tie-in (other than a few years) before the current deals

IIRC, the Fiesta replaced the Cotton as one of the four "major" bowls because the Cotton didn't want to pay the big bucks for the status. They relented and rejoined the group when it became the NY6 along with the Peach Bowl.

From Wikipedia:

"The [TCU] Horned Frogs are also one of only four FBS teams to have played in all six College Football Playoff Bowls, winning all but the Fiesta and Orange."

Correct

Pretty much. The Cotton Bowl was played in the outdated Cotton Bowl stadium in Dallas until Jerry World was built in 2008. Due to the stadium issue, the Cotton Bowl was left out of the Bowl Coalition, Bowl Alliance, and BCS, and was passed up by the Fiesta Bowl. Once the Cotton Bowl was moved to AT&T Stadium, it became the top non-BCS Big 12/SEC bowl, then was able to join the CFP once it was formed. The Cotton Bowl has thus regained its status as a major bowl.
