I expect Sandi Morris and Katie Nageotte to make the team. Jenn Suhr has been an Olympian, but I am not sure of her current fitness.

Only 2 vaulters remain: Nageotte and Morgan Leleux. Both are trying at 4.80m (15' 9").

I do not know how the 3-way tie at 4.60m (15' 1") is broken, but I assume that 3rd goes to Sandi Morris, due to fewer misses.

Olympic team:

1. Negeotte
2. Leleux
3. Morris

EDIT: New Meet Record for Nageotte: 4.95m (16' 2 ¾")

Nageotte going for a world record 5.07m (16' 7½"). She does not get it.

How can that occur? Must she make the Olympic mark in an established competition? Or can she try at a private event that she (or someone else) sets up with only that result as the goal?

I don't know. InterestedX might know.

1. Paul Chelimo 13:26.82
2. Grant Fisher 13:27.07
3. Woody Kincaid 13:27.13

All have the Olympic standard.

There was a mad dash for the finish line, and Chelimo "drifted" from lane 1 into lane 4 in the last 50 meters. I think he easily would have been DQd if either of the other 2 had filed a protest.

But, the 3 of them all ran sub-53 seconds for the last 400 meters.

Fisher and Kincaid previously made the Olympic team in the 10,000 meters.

Men's High Jump

FINAL RESULTS

1. JuVaughn Harrison 2.33m (7' 7¾")
2. Darryl Sullivan 2.33m (7' 7¾")
3. Shelby McEwen 2.30m (7' 6½")

All have the Olympic standard.

NOTES:

Harrison will be competing in a short while to make the Olympic team in the long jump.

Sullivan is just 5' 11", so in a high jump world dominated by very tall jumpers, he has done extraordinarily well.

I heard a note that Harrison would be the first American since Jim Thorpe (1912) to compete in the Olympics in those two events (HJ, LJ). That's quite a note.

They just suspended the competition due to extreme heat. They're not going to resume until 8:30 pm Pacific time.

But climate change is just a hoax folks.

2. Annie Kunz 5814
3. Erica Bougard 5716 *
4. Ashtin Mahler 5419
5. Chari Hawkins 5394

The contest for the championship should be tight, since Williams has a PB in the 800 of 2:15.31 and a season's best of 2:18.56.

Men's 200 Meters FINALS - 11:52 p.m., CDT

Competitors - World Ranking - 2021 Best

1. Terrance Laird 19.81 *
2. Kenny Bednarek 19.88 *
2. Erriyon Knighton 19.88 *
6. Noah Lyles 19.90 *
8. Isiah Young 19.99 *
9. Andrew Hudson 20.02 *
11. Fred Kerley 20.08 *
29. Kyree King 20.23 *

* Has Olympic qualifying time

NOTES: Knighton is 17 years old - won't turn 18 until next January 29
Lyles is the defending WORLD CHAMPION, but really has not been sharp in the Olympic Trials, either in the 100 meters (he finished 7th) or in the early rounds of the 200 meters.

I would predict Knighton, Bednarek and Lyles, in that order (based on what I've seen)
