Wisconsin is an interesting state. Some years ago, the state raised a state tax just so public school teachers could receive a pay raise. You won't see that in Alabama. TIME magazine told of the dairy lobby getting margarine being made illegal for a time so people were being arrested for "running margarine" into the state just like southern bootleggers did moonshine.

They have the only NFL team without an owner - the citizens own the team. It was told that some divorces were dropped because the parties could not decide who would get the Green Bay Packer tickets. The waiting line for new ones is decades long. They produce as much milk as other states, but they don't have the consumers so they make butter and cheese - hence the "cheese heads" at Packers games.
