End of conference expansion
Arresco thinks 11 is plenty. with the bigix rule a conference doesn't need divisions. If the 12 team tournament happens I expect to see the end of conference expansion. Maybe even conference contraction is in the not too distant future.

RE: End of conference expansion
I see some programs getting out of division 1 athletics because of costs, futility in trying to be competitive.Hope the American gets to be part of the playoff system.

RE: End of conference expansion
You would think this 12-team playoff throws cold water on expansion, but as long as college football is more about money than sport, further consolidation can't be ruled out. There's a significant gap between the TV payouts for the SEC/Big Ten and the other 3 P5 conferences. I could still see the SEC trying to grab one of the top programs from the Big 12 or ACC, maybe Oklahoma or Clemson, if doing so would add to their per-team payout. You might ask why any school would want to join the SEC when they have an easier path the the playoffs in their own weaker conference, but if it meant a $20 million increase in payout from TV revenue per year, they'd have to take that seriously.

RE: End of conference expansion
One of the big reasons to end expansion is not wanting to give others a share in the spoils. The same reason expansion happened to begin with and the reason for the bcs and the invitational exhibition

I agree. The AAC needs to contract imo especially to help hoops. Football is fine the way it is

I doubt USC will allow Clemson to join, the same way that UF has always blocked FSU from joining.
