I prefer to think it's more difficult than complicated.
No, it really is more accurate to say "complicated"...We do have to do the obvious things like what I mentioned above, but you have to remember that behind the scenes you have the Foundation, Bill Clark/Andy Kennedy, UAB Admin (and we haven't even left the city for consideration), BOT, CUSA exit fees, AAC entrance fees, CUSA commish, AAC commish, AAC member schools, ESPN (and other media partners), an impending renewal of TV contracts not just for AAC but ultimately every conference around 2023. And none of the stuff on that list included anything about the field of play.

Stop it.....just stop it. The BOT has already given its blessings for UAB to join the AAC if ever invited. If the AAC offered an invite to UAB tomorrow it would be accepted immediately and all that stuff you said would be handled.
It is not complicated. Going undefeated or beating a top P5, you know those things that get you noticed by the folks you need to notice you is a difficult task.
I'm sure there will be a lengthy response but I need not to say anything more.

I didn't say the "complicated" stuff was easy. I've said it's part of the equation...and a much larger part than many fans think. We have to win...but not as much as many fans think. Everyone loves to scare P5s, but that doesn't mean as much as many fans think. I think we're talking over each other and I apologize.
There is a reason Tulsa got their ticket punched to the AAC, and it had much less to do with their on field/court rep.

Tulsa was winning/in the mix for football and basketball titles at the time they left for the AAC. 7 out of 9 years in CUSA their football team had 8+ wins; 4 out of 9, 10+ wins. 5 out of 9 years in basketball they had 20+ wins.

Yeah, Tulsa was one of the better overall C-USA programs. Better examples were ECU and Tulane.

The AAC's current TV deal doesn't expire until 2032.

RE: What does UAB needs to do to get into the CFB playoffs?
The SEC, AAC and MAC are locked in long term. Big 12, Pac-12 and Big Ten are up next. C-USA I think has been doing one-year deals. Blowing up the relationship with ESPN continues to sting even though it was revived in 2018 with the digital package. The sad thing about it is the main schools that were driving that decision to go to Fox are no longer in the league.

I know. But it won't survive past 2023. Too many changes coming at the P5 level.

I did apologize to HD. Not sure where the post went, but didn't mean to be so dismissive.
