RE: New FB Commit
UAB is recruiting several players from Snow, which finished as the national runner-up. One is another huge OL who originally signed with BYU.

Tuiono was recruited in high school by Oregon, Kansas State, BYU, Utah and some others. I watched some of his tape. He's got a lot of potential.

RE: New FB Commit
Do we know if either of these guys are eligible for this year, or are they committed for 2022?

I think they are ‘22, but maybe not. DB Chris Smith is supposed to grad this summer, I think, if we can add him.

Damous has hudl tape labeled as sophomore year with highlights from this spring.

Have we got any info that might liven up the Recruiting Forum? Its most recent entry is from 2020.

All subforums except this main one are barely active.

RE: New FB Commit
It’s been a waste of and hard time to keep up with. We mainly recruit and take Juco players. When we do, they aren’t highly sought after. Then HS recruiting for us doesn’t heat up until 3 weeks prior to the feb signing day. The only weekend we really make a splash regarding HS guys is the Inferno weekend in August.

That may change as we’ve been hosting prospects at Protective stadium this month. Some with offers, not most.

It looks like we've run a couple highly attended high school prospect camps recently.

Seems like you missed the hundreds of high school prospects on campus over the last two weeks.

RE: New FB Commit
The question was, do we have any news to liven up the recruiting forum since it’s been dead since 2020. So, prepandemic. No, we don’t.

Yes, we had over 800 attend our first prospect camp this summer. Most to attend a prospect camp of the Clark era. That’s fantastic. We haven’t had a bunch of commits follow that since Spencer Browns class. Not until the inferno weekend. So, there’s not much to talk about now, even if we offer as there are a lot of camps left throughout the summer.

Now, back to why the recruiting forum is dead. Dee was ran off from Blazer talk, and he put in work on that forum for a decade, even when recruiting news for us was the deadest. It’s easier for those of us in the recruiting circle to just stick to Twitter. If somebody else has the motivation to run that forum, go do it.

Should be our beat writers job to inform us like every other schools beat writer does.

Also, every time we have a commit, it’s posted on the main forum. Which is fine, but defeats the point of having a recruiting forum as whoever is posting over there is basically just doing it for themselves as they are the only ones who return to the forum. I used to keep a notebook full of everything, but I’m no longer motivated to do that either.

For what it’s worth, 247 added Damon Stewart as a 2021 pledge.

Wasn’t me. We chatted recruiting on Twitter long after his time ended here.

I miss his contributions to the board, especially in recruiting info. I would love to know his Twitter handle to follow him myself, if I am not already doing so and didn't realize it was him. Would you mind sharing, even in DM?
