More people died because the fda and the ignorant governors did not change their policy back when it was quickly discovered the study in the lancet was fake and not properly peer reviewed.

The doctors who treated covid patients used hydroxychrloroquine with extremely good results. They continuously stated it was working. They were ignored, because it was Trump's drug, and it didnt matter how many people died.

Even today some of you numbnuts still think hydrozychloroquine causes heart issues. You dont need a study to tell you it doesnt. It was one of the most prescribed drugs on the planet for a half century. It is one of the safest drugs known to mankind. And some you idiots wanted Trump to be wrong so badly that you were ok with people dying.

201 of 255 people in the HCQ study posted by the OP still died.

Yea, so sh*t on those 54 who didnt die because they make Trump look right.

When patients are already on a ventilator, and their organs are malfunctioning, it appears hydroxychloroquine was still able to help some patients. (3 times as many as that didnt take it)

If only they were allowed to have taken it when they were first showing symptoms. You know, where they were much more likely to survive because their organs werent already shutting down. But no, cant do that, some porn star wannabe said it caused heart problems and if people survived, Trump would have been right.

That's the underlying point- When used as a PROPHYLACTIC. As in, preventation, or early application. It helped to minimize the most serious outcomes, helped keep SOME out of the hospital, off the 40,000 ventilators the mass murderer of Manhattan said he'd need and get folks on the road to recovery.

In the early days of this it was being given when all else had failed, and likely it was too late no matter what was done.

But, ignore all that. We need a 3-5 year triple blind study using control groups, placebo and a bunch of people willing to get sick and accept they may die in the name of "science".

IOW's the common bureaucrats wet dream.

Sorry, tain't no time for all that.

Another placebo controlled study, this one post exposure prophylaxis, and again no significant benefit. What data do you base the statement that it helps as a prophylaxis to keep people off the vent? Because I’m not seeing that in the clinical trial data.

You guys keep making claims, but you don’t post a lick of data. It’s almost like the trump standby when he is lying “I’ve heard lots of people saying”.

We conducted a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial across the United States and parts of Canada testing hydroxychloroquine as postexposure prophylaxis. We enrolled adults who had household or occupational exposure to someone with confirmed Covid-19 at a distance of less than 6 ft for more than 10 minutes while wearing neither a face mask nor an eye shield (high-risk exposure) or while wearing a face mask but no eye shield (moderate-risk exposure). Within 4 days after exposure, we randomly assigned participants to receive either placebo or hydroxychloroquine (800 mg once, followed by 600 mg in 6 to 8 hours, then 600 mg daily for 4 additional days). The primary outcome was the incidence of either laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 or illness compatible with Covid-19 within 14 days.
We enrolled 821 asymptomatic participants. Overall, 87.6% of the participants (719 of 821) reported a high-risk exposure to a confirmed Covid-19 contact. The incidence of new illness compatible with Covid-19 did not differ significantly between participants receiving hydroxychloroquine (49 of 414 [11.8%]) and those receiving placebo (58 of 407 [14.3%]); the absolute difference was −2.4 percentage points (95% confidence interval, −7.0 to 2.2; P=0.35).
